Becky,
Don't have much to advice to offer about meds, but . . .
just wanted to let you know that we have all been there so don't feel alone. Eventually, you will sleep. You will have better days so just hang in there for a little bit longer.

How has Darvocet worked for you?
Hey Susan, It didn't go as badly as I had expected, but it was . . . interesting. Coincidentally, I thought I could refill my Ambien the night before, get to the pharmacy, NO MORE REFILLS! Absolute panic. Go home, take 1200 mg of Neurontin because I know it will help me sleep. Well, I knew wrong. I ...

Fred, Yes, I can actually find the spot when I am twitching. Like you, I also have the almost deep convulsive involuntary electrical spasm jerks. It's a big area on the top of my thigh and a smaller area where my arm is attached to my shoulder. I'm going to the RLS doctor today. If I find out anythi...

I'm scared. Please help.
I have my appt. with the RLS doctor in about 8 hours. I'm pretty sure I'm augmenting on my Mirapex again. The last time the doc put me on Requip for a drug holiday. The Requip worked but made me so nauseous. I just don't want to go back on the Requip. I'm so scared right now sitting here. What if my...

Ann, I wonder which comes first? The RLS or the overweightness? For me, the RLS definitely came way before I had a problem with my extra 30 pounds. I really think my extra weight is an emotional issue. I'm the Caucasian Oprah. Except I don't have my own TV show. Hmmm . . . very interesting comment, ...

Glad I could help, Susan. All of you guys have helped me so much! My chiropractor actually rubs the Sombra on my left arm, shoulder, and neck. She then does ultrasound heat on top of it so the Sombra is absorbed into the muscles more. (And just to clarify--this is for the fibromyalgia, not the RLS) ...

Hi Violet, Have you ever tried Sombra? I used to use Biofreeze, but I like the Sombra better. It doesn't help the twitching, but it does help my pain. It has menthol, camphor, and capsaican. Capsaican is the stuff in red, spicy peppers. I thought my chiropractor was nuts when she told me about it so...

Willy, I'm curious and my Ambien hasn't kicked in yet. Since you are a runner, do you "carb up" a lot? I don't run unless I can help it, but I ask because I notice that when I eat a lot of junk food, my RLS is much worse. If I'm remembering correctly from my Adkins days, don't carbs turn into sugar?...

Fred, Unfortunately, I think you are "normal" as far as RLS goes. I have had the pain with twitching (and without but that's another story) for quite a while. If you search this entire web site, you will find it is actually pretty common. Mine actually sounds like the same thing as yours except I te...
