I always seem to have frozen leftovers that are more than one portion and not quite enough for two of bolognese sauce/shepherds pie etc. They seem to be in the freezer for ever. Saturday used to always be 'take-away' night, but since I finished full time work I tend to economise more. Omelettes are ...

Home Cooking ??

Today I decided to do the domestic goddess bit and make a home made steak pie. So browned the onions, added the steak and cooked it slowly, adding stock, sage, various seasonings and mushrooms. Made the pastry, hunted for and found the correct tin dish, lined the dish, filled the pie and placed the ...

The book is definitely worth a read. I told my friend that I would recommend it for her daughter (daughter would be very much like my nature/personality). So my friend ordered it, gave it to daughter, and I've had a phone call from her daughter to say..... 'Woww...this book is fabulous... I think I ...

Touch wood... for luck.... I don't recall ever having had the flu.

Just being nurse now and preparing hot lemon/sherry/honey toddy for my patient.

My original post was meant to be 'tongue in cheek', but just as I posted it I thought of Susan whose husband is in hospital intensive care. I am sure that Susan would much prefer that her husband was at home with 'just' a dose of flu.

I feel a little humble.........

Susan, I am so sorry that your husband is ill and wish you and your family well, and your husband a speedy recovery.

Take care.

I wish you the best.

I am on requip and tramadol and will be most interested to hear how you cope with your withdrawal symptoms. You are very brave. I once tried to come off the requip and lasted 2 days.

Positive thoughts are sent your way.

Cuddling is a nightmare and pretty impossible when symptoms are active. As I now take medication there are times when all is ok, and grab the opportunity :)

Does walking and movement relieve your symptoms for any length of time, or at least whilst you are moving: This is a classic indicator. There are lots of other medications to try. Take a look at the Mayo Clinic Algorithm which explains these and also lists the 3 o 4 'requirements' for rls diagnosis....

I would agree our advice would be more accurate than that of most run of the mill doctors. Doc's attitude regarding forums, i would like to think, is her ignorance rather than malicious.

She also told me not to participate in these boards because nobody knew what they were talking about. She said the boards were full of misinformation. Is c**p an inappropriate word to use ?? Sorry if I offend, but she does not appear to have a clue about support forums, and certainly not about this...

I'd ask every person I knew for the most compassionate doctor who listened and who was willing to work with other doctors and with the patient. I'd make them my GP, take in an email from DR B and one of the RLS books, and go from there. I was lucky, compassionate doc already was my GP, he read Dr B...
