Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I think my nausea is from something I'm eating. I've pretty much gotten used to the buprenorphine. I figured out 2:30pm prevents my insomnia most of the time. I only get RLS once in awhile, as my injections where off. I'm also in the process of increasing my spinal stimulator. Are the injections fo...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

It's great to hear from you. I started taking suboxone/buprenorphine last summer. I take a 2mg film and cut it up into 4 parts. I only need to take 1 of those 4 parts. I take it at 2:30 pm. I have an alarm set. I also carry some in my purse. I found that I had to take it that early so that I could ...

Oh the dreaded sewer blockage. We also have drain rods and various bits of kit to save paying tradesmen where possible.
Well done. Isn’t there a satisfaction with these accomplishments.
Yes! By the way the first 45 rpm record I purchased was Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. Man I am old.

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I can hardly believe you are retired 5 years and can remember well how you struggled to keep working. You appear to be managing pretty well ..... When you remember to take your meds on time..... : Ride the wave. Now my unofficial job is fix everything around the house that breaks down. I just fixed...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I am so fortunate that my Suboxone is still working after all of these years. I take the sublingual 4mg but I split it up into 4 rectangles and put them in two contact lenses plastic boxes. So each one is in an airtight container. I take them at 8:30 am, 12 noon, 6 pm and 7:40 pm when I remember to ...

Re: Change in Taste & Smell

I guess I didn’t mention that for years I can barely smell anything. In some situations it can be funny or dangerous depending on situations but losing the ability of tasting many things is really just sad. Fortunately I can still taste huckleberry pie (my number one food) although the price of berr...

Re: Change in Taste & Smell

This is really weird. In the last few months my taste (olfactory) has taken a change for the worse. I came on here to see if there was anything mentioning losing taste from RLS. I don't even remember writing about this 9 years ago. Awhile back spices became really too hot for me. And now I can't eve...

Re: suboxone

I have taken 4mg / 1mg of Suboxone (Buprenorphine and Naloxone) for many years now (around 8 years). I cut the sublingual film into 4 pieces and take it at 9:30 am, noon, 5:30 pm and bedtime (about 8 pm) I do this because taking it all at once makes me so restless I can’t sleep. My doctor would neve...

I had this happen to me with spicy things. Always assumed it was medication, but am not sure.
I haven’t changed meds for years. Maybe it is part of aging.
It is just really weird.

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I am having a problem in the last few months where my taste has changed drastically. For example if I eat a BBQ potato chip it seems much more hot, in fact today I was choking on one potato chip, even the back of my throat seemed on fire. This has been happening with all kinds of spicy foods and my ...

Re: Sad news - passing of Dr. Richard Allen

Dr. Richard Allen saved my life! I spoke to him on the phone a few times about my RLS when I was at the end of the line and no drugs (or anything else) were working. He sent me to his colleague Dr. Earley at Johns Hopkins who got me off the 5 drugs I was taking for RLS and put me on Suboxone. Wow, I...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

You are sounding pretty positive and it's great to hear that you are doing ok. It's 11 months since our first lockdown. With two slight easements in between we are on major lockdown 3. The result of a (very foolish) two week relaxation before xmas..... I look for reasons to be grateful. Main one is...
