In fact, most people won't gain weight if on a ketogenic diet even if they overeat intentionally... Overeating just prevents you from losing weight in this case.

Update: I switched to Keto eating. No sugars, no carbs. 100 days later I've lost almost 17 pounds and feel great. :)

Re: Why Does Alcohol Help Me?

I take 3000 mg of gabapentin daily. A couple shots of bourbon late at night helps my symptoms so much that (on occasion) I'll forget to take the remaining 600 to 1200 mg.

Re: Contest

You're having a very annoying dream awakening to very annoying WED symptoms. Yes! and sometimes it goes on and on in a frustrating kind of half-sleep, like, it takes forever for me to wake up enough to realize that I'm having symptoms, that I can solve this by waking up fully and getting up, that t...

Re: Contest

I'm so fortunate in that I never have trouble getting to sleep at night. On the rare occasion (like this morning) I wake up early with WED symptoms. I popped another 600 mg of Gabapentin today and settled in with morning coffee and the news. I know I shouldn't have the coffee but I'm pretty addicted...

Re: GABAPENTIN

I've been on Gabapentin for over 3 years. My dosage has increased from 300mg to a (stabilized) 3000 mg daily. I'm ok with it for the time being. My issue is weight gain which has come to.... calculating.... 17 lbs. I'm thinking of talking to a specialist over the weight gain because it's getting a b...

Brymr - I can honestly say that a lettuce leaf rarely crosses my lips. Good luck.
I wasn't being literal. Lettuce as metaphor.

EeFall: Do you have a religious faith? If you have no religion it will most certainly help you to find one and embrace it. Of course it won't cure your RLS but it will help you greatly.

Eventually I'm going to see a specialist and a change of meds. I'm not eating freakin lettuce for the rest of my life.

weight. gain

I'm on 3000 mg of gabapentin daily and I'm gaining weight. In 2 years I'm up 20 lbs and this with me limiting what I eat not eating more than usual. I've read that gabapentin causes weight gain. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Worse after Gabapentin

Thanks so much for the clear information regarding testing for iron. Now I know what to ask for and what to look for. And yes, the morning brain fog just got to be too much for me to take. It was adding to the depression I already deal with. Can’t imagine what the brain fog would be like at 1800mg!...

Re: Pharmacy refused prescription refill

Absolutely agreed. Also know that when things are complex, we usually look for easy solutions, rather than really solving the problem. And, that means things like restricting everyone else. But the issue isn't complex. It becomes complex when people are excused from taking responsibility for their ...

Re: Pharmacy refused prescription refill

Many people who abuse prescriptions and get addicted are people like you and me. Last I remember reading, about 7-9 percent of us get easily addicted - the rest of us do not. Guess it's more about what type of brain we have that takes us down that path. There are almost 50K US deaths related to ove...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?

I get 5 or 6 hours a night generally. Sometimes 7. I start my gabapentin at 4:30 unless I forget. I space out 3000 mg until about 1:00. Occasionally I'll wake up at 5 with symptoms getting out of bed. Then I just get on the computer for an hour and go back to sleep. My problem is when I'm late on my...
