Oh, Emily, my heart breaks for you! I can only imagine how you might be feeling right now. I am going to a specialist on Monday, and if that is the response I get, I'll join you in taking out stock in Kleenex! So, I am going to issue you a direct order - find another doctor! Don't let this keep you ...

Thank you, Hazel! Knowing that my new family is with me in spirit has kept me putting one foot in front of the other (literally!, sometimes all night long) . Thank you for being a part of a place that has given me a sense of hope and companionship in my struggle for the first time.

Although I have experienced augmentation with Requip, I agree that it is a fantastic drug. I had great relief with it for the first time in my life (nothing had ever worked before), until recently. Although it's not for everyone, I don't think anyone should decide not to try it without at least cons...

Took two seconds and after the letter was submitted, there was an opportunity to send the info to others who might help, as well. Here's hoping this gets some much needed time and money on this issue!

I'd like to add my welcome and also my empathy with your difficulty. It can really drive you crazy! Let us know what the doctor says. Also, there is not yet a test that can diagnose RLS - it is diagnosed by your doctor after talking with you about your symptoms. RLS is often seen in conjunct with Pe...

Trazadone made mine worse. Such a bummer that there is not one med out there that can be prescribed to everyone who has RLS. The good news is, if you can hang in there, chances are something will be found that will help.

Requip takes a while to build up in your system. You might want to ask your doctor about it. My doctor started me with .25 mg for one week, then kept increasing by .25 mg weekly until the symptoms seemed to stop. That is to say, the symptoms did not stop with the first dose. I am so sorry that you a...

What to bring to new doc

As I anxiously await my specialist visit on July 10th, I was wondering what I should be gathering to take with me. This seems to be a helpful topic for many people as I seem to not be the only one having to see a new doctor for the first time. Should I take only my records? Are they automatically se...

When my dad picked me up from the airport, he brought flowers. As we were waiting for a shuttle to take us to our car, I was holding the flowers and a little boy, who must have been about 2 or 3, looked at me and shouted, "Congratulations!" He must have had some experience that made a connectionn in...

I thought I would add that when I was working as a hospital chaplain, I would encourage my patients to share anything with the doctor that they thought would be helpful. With RLS, quality of life issues are necessary for your doctor to understand the degree of help that you need. Further, you might ...

Congratulations, love. Keep up the good work and know that you have all the help you can handle here with you. You are a new friend, but I could not be happier for or more proud of you. To work so hard for a disorder that is so little understood is a special calling. When you struggle, know that you...

Am currently 27 years old and have had RLS/PLMD my entire life. No one could sleep in the same bed with me because I would thrash around and kick them. My symptoms were mostly at night as a child and I remember asking my mom to rub my feet because I had "energies" in my feet. Sometimes I called them...

Sharon, I am still fairly new to this and do not know how to connect you to another conversation, but I do remember reading that stress can increase RLS symptoms. Also, you might want to find out about augmentation, which I am currently experiencing. Have had RLS all my life, finally was diagnosed a...

Matt, I am so glad that you are doing better today! For me, it seems like one day of improvement can give me enough hope to keep going a little bit longer. And reading about someone else's good day gives me encouragement when I am having a bad day myself! I have read quite a bit that seems to indica...
