Yoga -- long slow sun salutation a help

Before I was prescribed ropinerol my symptoms were a lot worse and more frequent (at least twice a night when I had to be up for at least an hour). I had practised yoga before and found a video of an elaborate sun salutation on line. I won't say it's complicated, just that it is a lot more involved ...

Re: Anybody have tips to fool the brain?

Thanks, a timer is a great idea. I'll go set one up on my iPhone now. I, too, do lots of weird leg exercises but if I'm in bed they almost never work. Sometimes a mini backbend that puts pressure on my Achilles works but I have to keep it for about a minute or more. And I try to do it without waking...

Anybody have tips to fool the brain?

Mostly in the afternoon and evening if I start getting symptoms I can just get up, walk around and do something to distract my brain so it forgets about my achy legs. Last night I took my ropinerol about a half hour later than I should have and missed the window of opportunity to fall asleep. As I l...

Re: Sleep Book

More about The Sleep Book. There is a website and while interesting, it doesn't have a whole lot of information: m It says on the website "The struggle with sleeplessness prolongs and worsens insomnia. We break this vicious cycle of Insomnia through our globally pioneering use of Acceptance &a...

Re: Sleep Book

It's really great to be part of the WED/RLS forum. My doctor is a GP, not a sleep specialist, but he is very open to learning about everything and supportive. He prescribed Clonazepam a few years ago but it didn't work at all. I knew about ropinerol but didn't know it was available in New Zealand un...

Re: Guest Blog Post?

I'd like to tell my story, it's pretty long but I'd like to get it off my chest.

Re: Flying

I live in New Zealand and have made many long flights -- all flights out of here are long! On overnight flights I take a sleeping pill, the only time I ever take one. I walk around a lot during the flight. I've told the attendants I have RLS and they usually understand. I've taken a half a Sinemet w...

Re: September 2014

Thanks for the welcome to the forum. I'm taking .62 ropinerol (2.5 tablets) around 8.30pm every night, I started with .25 six months ago and thought it was a miracle. I'm aware of augmentation so I don't want to increase it. Right now, about an hour before I'll take my dose, my legs are killing me b...
