Sleuth, So do I have this straight? Your primary physician suggested Talwin(an opiate) and Pregablin (Lyrica) and you are frightened to return to her office because of a bad email. First of all may I suggest, no more emails. You really need to address something as important as RLS/new meds face to f...

Sleuth, I've been reading through all your posts this a.m. I'm so sorry that you are so miserable! I truly can relate! Can you get back in the physicians office that you started with? Ask her straight out to prescribe an opiate. Even though you seem to be leary in starting these meds, they truly are...

Susan ans Viewsaskew, I noticed that both of you are on or need to take meds that cost WAY too much money for the average person. If your physician or one of his staff call the manufacturer, many are willing to supply you w/ the drug, or give huge discounts. Being in the health care profession mysel...

Medications raising havoc....
It has been 3 months since I saw Dr Silber @ Mayo Clinic. His advice regarding my medication was change my Norco 10/325 to Hydrocodone 15 mg every 4-6 hrs. and continue my Lyrica 150 mg 3 times a day. I also take Xanax 1 mg twice a day. My RLS is under control, but I'm finding that the side effects ...

Sleuth, I sometimes think it's better if we just don't look at the side effects aspect of our medications. Believe me the relief of my RLS symptoms surely out weigh the side effects. I've been on Lyrica 150 mg 3 times a day for about 3 months and have had great success. Yes, there has been some weig...

Sleuth, Sorry to hear your RLS is out of control with no medication backup. When you saw Dr E. in July did he suggest a plan B or C if your Mirapex was'nt effective? For instance,Neurontin,Lyrica, maybe an opiate? If not will your current physician take Mayo's algo suggestions? As for your current p...

Carolsond, I too had tried every drug available, except for opiates. Then, 3 yrs ago my primary physician said we should give them a whirl.(I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict)I was so miserable and desperate to get some relief I was willing to try anything! I'm doing very well on opiates, they were a...

D4.... Nice to know that we share the same physician. I was very impressed with Dr Silber. Again I repeat, I'm so grateful for all the information and validation I received from him regarding my RLS. So now I can stop looking for reasons why. No more Goggling, tests, physician hopping, diets, oils, s...

Miinerva.....I have also had RLS as long as I can remember. So when it got to the point 11 yrs ago that I had to start medication, I began looking for a reason why. But, I continued to take medications because the symptoms were so out of control such severe sleep deprivation, creepy crawlies all nig...
