Re: My battle with RLS.. starting to lose faith for relief
I ran into that when I was doing my SS disability stuff. And YES YES YES I know exactly what you mean about HOW IN THE HECK are we to fill out all these papers and go to all these docs whilst DYING from RLS!?!!! Oh, yes, it took me SIX MONTHS to fill out the four papers, I guess it was, and pull to...

Re: Trying to get pregnant
Please do keep in touch. You'll find here a group of people who know you're not crazy or making it all up, and who understand how real and devastating the disease is. The level of ignorance in the medical community still shocks me at times. Getting pregnant when you have this disease is something yo...

Re: new to here, unfortunately not new to RLS
helen, I can't add much to what Polar Bear has said. You are in a terrible spot and it's clear to us (who have been throught the same thing) that you are not being treated properly, not through maliciousness or neglect but simple ignorance on the part of your doctors. Sadly, that's very common. Many...

Re: Just Joined - My Thoughts and Questions
bryher, my gut feeling is that you're augmenting because you're having much the same experience I did, except I had done more reading than you and stopped increasing my dose at 2.5 mg despite my doctor's request that I raise it again. I had the same short period during which a dose would work - a ni...

Re: English newby with question :)
Sue, and Clare also if you are taking one of the Parkinson's drugs, this information may be useful for you: I echo Polar Bear's concern about the ropinirole dose, Sue. It can be a nasty drug for those of us with WED/RLS, especially if our ferritin is low. As far as I know from my reading, the maximu...

Re: What about sleeping pills Also: augmentation
I'll say it again - but you'll find lots of older posts where I've said this ad nauseum .... taking a sleeping pill when you have inadequately treated WED is downright dangerous. That said, if your WED is mild, maybe it will be enough to send you to la-la land. If your WED is not mild, esp if you ar...

Re: Anyone else tried vicodin?
Pairodocs , sounds like you need a more potent opioid. Maybe your doctor will be sensible enough to look at your history, look at the RLS/WED literature, and take the low-risk option of prescribing you something stronger. I hope. You should definitely bring it up with him, and if you like, try what ...

Perhaps the nerves not the muscles? Peripheral nerve involvement would not be surprising.

Re: books
The Medi book is only about $25 on amazon, and from what I can see of it on there and on google books, it's a waste of money except for people who have not done any research on their own yet. It seems to be very similar to a book I wasted money on, called "The Official Patient's Sourcebook on ....

yes, I'm grateful too, I really wouldn't want the high. I felt it once when I took my full dose all at once instead of staggered like I usually do, and I didn't like the feeling.

fyi some other things donepezil has been tried for (from wikipedia also): <<<<<<<<<<<<<Donepezil has been tested in other cognitive disorders (and is sometimes used off label) including Lewy body dementia[8] and vascular dementia,[9] but it is not currently approved for these indications. Re: Disability Claim
I know very little about CFS - which has a new name now, too, but I forget it - but I think one of the key things is that the fatigue is usually brought on or exacerbated by physical exertion, whereas in RLS there is no such connection, since the fatigue is a result of ongoing sleep deprivation.
