Re: Requip Again???

Thank you for the replies. I see my neurologist in December and I'm sure he will go along. Both him and a second opinion neurologist said find a university that specialises in RLS. I plan to do a road trip to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore but I keep putting it off until I'm 65 in a few months. I've jus...

Requip Again???

The only thing that ever flat out worked for me was Requip (Ropinirole). But then it didn't, doctor started increasing dosage and we all know how that worked out. I have not taken it in more than six years. I'm thinking of taking a low dose, maybe 0.5 mg just for a couple of weeks when I have import...

Re: Dose for Iron Infusions - Injectafer

Is this your first time? Is it working? Did your doctor set you up or did you have to seek out a specialist?

I’m considering it but dealing with all these issues. Thx, Rick

Wow! My doctors in Florida are practicing medicine with their hands tied behind their back.

Re: Latest struggles with treatment

"He was opinionated, talked a lot, and definitely thought highly of himself" My RLS has humbled my neurologist who started off like your doc. Now all the can do is scroll down his iPhone and look for meds and dosages. Opioid nightmare has scared all docs. Especially if they are in Florida who model ...

Re: An encouraging word from my rheumatologist

As wild as RLS and PLMS symptoms are, they are all in that book. My favorite is how symptoms can disappear when on vacation or very engaged mentally. I just had a week in New Orleans and legs went silent. I forget chapter and verse but it’s in there.

Second Opinion

I saw another neurologist in my plan. Articulate, knew more about RLS than the guy I’m seeing, listened to what I had to say, but his only advise was seek out a specialist. He seemed to have no interest in taking me on as a patient. Both neurologist told me their hands are tied as to what they can p...

Re: Emory Healthcare in Atlanta - Anyone Use?

Sleep, thx for the response. Sounds like we have ended up in the same place by different paths. I think getting off clonazepam compounded my issues resulting in getting back on and adding Lyrica. I think I still have side effects more than four years later one being my RLS is more painful. My plan i...

Re: Pramipexole versus Lyrica/pregabalin? Or gabapentin?

Pregabalin is generic now or made under license. What I take it made by NOZADOZ. Pharmacist told me ask for it. When I did Dr. & office did not know. First time it was about 10% off. This time it was %80 less. No clue why. I asked pharmacist and she just shrugged.

Re: Tramadol Experience

Thx for the response QyX. I’m getting significant and sometimes severe pain particularly during sleep even on Clonazepam and Lyrica. I wake up like in pain during the night and the next morning. Sometimes it’s like needles, sometimes like running a very long distance and sometimes it’s like getting ...

Sleepy, Thx for the response. Can you tell us about your IV Iron experience? Did you go from severe RLS / PLM to mild or none? How many treatments, how long until results. Your input would be great. Rick

Re: Stressless Chairs

Over 20 years ago I was walking through a big mall. My legs were going crazy which was not the norm but did happen. I went into a Sharper Image and sat on a Panasonic Massage Recliner. Instantly my legs went silent. When I got home I shopped around, found a better price and ordered it. It never stop...

Re: RLS and the COVID Vaccine

I had my first shot of Moderna two weeks ago. My legs lit up for the rest of the day but besides a sore arm it subsided in a few hours.
