Has anyone had any success with Lyrica?

I am looking for any other options besides narcotics and benzos and my doctor mentioned lyrica. On the other hand I am not particularly interested in starting another med that is going to do JACK! I would love to hear other peoples experience with Lyrica. Thanks again for all the great info!

Thank you for the warm welcome and to answer your question(s) yes I am active in the 12 steps. As a matter of fact I am a counselor/case manager at a treatment facility and I make it my life's work to help others to get recovery. I have a lot at stake to be dabbling in such medications. I am looking...

I also suffer from severe depression-when I do not take my anti-depressants. For me taking an ssri is the difference between being able to function and have a life vs not functioning. Whether it makes my RLS worse or not, it is not an option for me. Both impact my quality of life and I have learned ...

Addict in recovery needs help making good choices!

I posted earlier that I am experiencing augmentation from my requip. My main problem other than the obvious is that I am an alcoholic/drug addict in recovery for over 2 years and am not wanting to set myself up for a relapse. I am terrified of the thought of taking even ultram and am wondering if th...

Thanks for the info. Yes I have a good neurologist in Orange County who definitely "gets" it. We have tried some different combinations. My problem is complicated by the fact that I am an addict in recovery and am limited to what I can take. I need to be very careful not to "reawaken ...

Requip holiday-How long?

I have been on requip for more than 2 years and I believe I am experiencing augmentation. It works well for me and I tolerate the side effects fairly well. I have tried neurontin, baclofen, mirapex, calcium/magnesium, vitamin B (was deficient), and have decided that the results with requip outweigh ...

Opiates are not an option for me either unfortunately. I am a case manager at a treament center and I am monitored very carefully. Also seems risky for me. I will have to work around that-
Thanks for the input though!

What next?

Hi I am new to your board but unfortunately not new to RLS. I have had sporadic episodes since childhood. It has always been exaggerated when I took cold or sleeping medications. I only had to take medication for it beginning about 4 years ago. I took Klonopin almost nightly but I am in recovery for...
