Re: Introducing myself

redshoes, I'm glad that you found us but sorry that you need to be here. Your neurologist took the step that many of them initially take following augmentation on your first dopamine agonist. Their thinking is that shifting to a longer acting dopamine agonist will alleviate some of the problems with...

Re: Neupro Cost

It maxed out my insurance monthly co-pay for the 15 months that I used it, before I augmented on it as well. The only benefit that I feel that I got out of it was that during the days that I had them on my shoulders, the patches were visible when I ran . The patch would invariably prompt a question ...

Re: I'm tired of fighting

The opioids quickly address the RLS and PLMD, just like a dopamine agonist probably did when you first tried one. But opioids do not cause augmentation and most of us stay on the same low dose for years without any need to increase the dose. Opioids help with sleep for some and aggravate the situati...

Re: I'm tired of fighting

My life is pretty much over, and I can't stop thinking about just cutting to the chase. stockton2malone2, many if not most of us have been where you are today. There IS hope and a way out of this. First, are you still taking Alprazalom? One of the side effects of it is the mental state that you des...

Welcome to Didjit

Tuesday, February 11 Welcome to Didjit, who has had RLS since adolescence, 40+ years along with PLMD and REMD. Re: Describe your RLS symptoms

That is one of the greatest challenges that we face when discussing RLS with our family, friends and doctors. Because there are no similar experiences, there simply are no words that convey what RLS feels like. If they have RLS, they know what it feels like and don't need to be told. If they don't, ...

Re: Is bromine causal?

Does the Brain Iron Deficiency, and genetic predisposition findings rule out other chemical contributors, like bromine? I read that a variety of chemicals contribute to RLS; e.g. tannins, caffeine, etc. So it's a sincere question. Top First we need to remember that RLS is a relatively new condition...

Because this issue has arisen before, I will change that setting to allow an hour of inactiv...
