Re: If you have been denied opioid treatment

No, your description was fine, jul2873. When I looked at the sickofsuffering site, it was easy to tell that the only criteria was that you were suffering and had been denied medications that might give you a break from it. I have two doctors who don't believe the condition exists. Sigh.....

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Ann, I forgot. This doc is with a huge pain mgmt center (I have yet...and I've looked...to find a pain mgmt doc not affiliated with one of the two we have in the immediate area), I'm first going to ask this guy if anyone in the clinic knows more about RLS (and the doc admitted that he doesn't know m...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Ok, yesterday's visit with so-called-pain doc. He actually looked at me and said " some people need it [opioid therapy] and some people don't. I don't think you need it." He then went on to NOT address the RLS, saying that he has a lot of patients and NOT ONE complains of this. He also said somethin...

Re: If you have been denied opioid treatment

Thank you for this link! In the interest of full disclosure, I wasn't denied, I was cut off. So I've got pain, withdrawal, and fury. The veritable trifecta that fuels class actions such as this.

ARGHHHHH!

Re: Medical Marijuana

Hi! I also posted on the "great article about opiates" thread, about all my pain meds plus ativan just getting yanked (because I don't have cancer, is what they said). Anyway, my symptoms are going nuts. Last night I went online and ordered CBD:THC 500 MG 18:1 and 1:1. So yeah, currently symptoms aw...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

And the doc who yanked my one hydrocodone a day just cut off my .5 mg of ativan. I think I'm going the kratom and mm route, high be damned.

Re: Excellent article on opioids

"Funny" thing is, initially I did call it Willis Ekbom syndrome, but was met with a blank stare, so I said restless legs syndrome and he said "why didn't you call it that to begin with?" But then he said the "then you can't have it in your arm" thing, to which I wanted to say "you don't know about e...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Thank you so much Holland and Steve! I've just started taking iron supplements, even though everything points to this not being very effective. I'm reading the sciencedirect article and may try requesting IV Iron (even tho my doctor pulled on my eye, said "you're not anaemic, iron looks fine). I'm s...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Sigh...thank you Steve, Ann, Beth. So here's what I have going: sent a request to my gp for horizant, also requested referral to a neurologist, am going to stop taking Valerian (I read some stories from people who said this and melatonin exacerbated their symptoms), am going to do some serious onlin...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

From what I've read, I don't think I want to try the Mirapex. I just sent my gp a request to try running gabapentin encarbil past my ins. co again. They rejected it last time. The most frustrating (aside from the RLS that has me screaming into my pillow at night) is how my doctors don't take this se...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Thank you Ann. It is a sad sort of comfort to know that other people suffer from this, although I sincerely wish that none of us did. My doctor suggested mirapex. I haven't heard off this and will do some research on the boards. It's just frustrating...and maddening, when you've found something that...

Re: Excellent article on opioids

This article (and the linked articles as well) support everything I told my pain medicine doctor. However, that didn't stop him from cutting off my narcotics (two hydrocodone 5-325 and one ms-contin per day). I'd been taking this dosage safely for over ten years. I was told that I "don't have a diag...

Re: Please help, I don't know what to do. Stopped requip and 10 days later still can't sleep

rikku9, I take 900 MG Gabapentin every night, and 100 MG morning and noon, and 15 MG MS Contin twice a day. Coming off way too high doses of narcotics (taken for chronic back pain and sciatica) really triggered my RLS symptoms, and I'm still trying to figure out ways to cope. I live in a purportedly...

Re: Do you ever just want to pound on your legs?

Abso*****lutely! I have RLS in my left side/arm, and I hammer away (doesn't help). I would cut my arm off, but then I'd probably get "phantom" RLS!!?

Re: Rant - be forewarned

Joanie60, Rustsmith, Ann, everyone. I'm not giving up. I can't. I downright REFUSE to suffer not only the effects, but the anticipatory anxiety accompanying this little known, under-funded, "figment of my imagination." There are a lot of things in my life that are hard, painful, difficult,...
