Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants
I don't know of any research. In my personal experience, most antidepressants that worsened the RLS did so pretty quickly and it was bad enough that the gabapentin & later, clonazepam, couldn't cover it. Others caused a gradual worsening but it was mild enough that the gabapentin or clonazepam p...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
I stopped taking oxycontin in 2014 but had been taking it along with oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Usually take 0-15mg (total) oxycodone a day for the pain. Oxycontin seems like a scarier drug to me for some reason. What's worse, clonazepam or oxycodone? After 0 sleep on Thursday night, I slept f...

Re: Restiffic and Relaxis Information
This is good to hear. Maybe this is d'uh to people who've done more research but this makes me think RLS is a vascular thing. It would explain why moderate exercise helps but too much can make it worse and why we have to move.

Re: OxyContin, oxycodone and severe anxiety
Rlstader and legsbestill, my sympathies on the anxiety thing. I'm glad you're feeling better, Rlstader. Buspar can work wonders for anxiety. I know people who've had a great response to it. I don't think it always increases RLS. Wellbutrin supposedly is one of the few antidepressants that doesn't ca...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
legsbestill (I love your user name!), thank you for your kind words. It really helps to have someone remind me that I am strong and hope is essential to resilience. I am having a terrible time because, in addition to the RLS, the MS has decided to gift me with some new challenges. Apparently somethi...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
The ropinirole is doing nothing for me and I'm still having early morning - mid morning RLS. It quiets down mid day and then picks up again at 4:30ish. Quiets down again until 7-9 and then just stays. My neuro increased the trazadone to 75 mg but without 1.0 clonazepam there's no sleep. The last two...

Re: OxyContin, oxycodone and severe anxiety
I was on buspirone (Buspar) this summer and it made my RLS worse. Also, are you sure what you are experiencing is anxiety and not a racing heart? I was on an antidepressant that caused me to have really high blood pressure and a really fast heart rate. My psychiatrist originally thought it was anxie...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
Spoke too soon. Had mild RLS beginning at 6:00pm, by 7:46pm it was bad and it just kept getting worse. Took the trazadone and ropinirole at 8:00pm. Then took .5mg clonazepam at 9:00pm as part of my taper. By 10:15pm the RLS was severe. I took 5mg of oxycodone at 10:30pm. No change in the RLS. Fell a...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
Happy news! I slept from about 1:15 am until 9:30am! No RLS, not groggy, mild dizzy and milder nausea with a lot less weakness! Still really hungry but controlling it better. And, it's 4:45pm and NO RLS yet! I don't know if Dr Neurologistbutknowsnothing was speaking specifically about RLS v Parkinso...

Re: Myofascial trigger points - I HATE them!
I missed the link but I've got it bookmarked now. Thank you! I'm not sure I actually have real trigger points but I had trigger point massage therapy in another state years ago and it was incredibly helpful in loosening me up so I could walk more freely/easily. Could just be spasticity. I've always ...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
Severe RLS attacks again! I'm still very sleepy from everything I took last night and maybe because I didn't fall asleep until after 3:30am. I slept until 9:30am and took a NAP from 11:30am to 1:30pm! I've had no meds during the day and the RLS was quiet until 4:15pm when it kicked in a little. I'm ...

Re: Ropinirole + trazadone + clonazepam
I think I'll take the ropinirole a little later. I did did get stressed out by some news so maybe that was it. Or maybe this whole increase in the RLS since early September is progression. Well, at least I can still walk if I need to although because of the new weakness and dizziness from the trazad...

Whew! Glad I didn't do something stupid. If you really wanted to print it in Nightwalkers, we could add a disclaimer and probably change the "notpfizer" name to something else.
