Thanks for the insight. My 6 yr old son had c-diff over the summer so I definitely know more than I ever wanted to about guts & bacteria! Geez, I hope he doesn't get RLS as a consequence--every now and then he jokes that he has it--but maybe he is serious. I'm glad you both posted this-- I shoul...

Vesicare

Hi all-

Has anyone taken this/ know whether it aggravates RLS? Considering an antibiotic recently threw my legs into a tizzy, I'm hesitant to try any new med without checking here first.

Thanks for your time!

I switched from Zoloft to Wellbutrin XL and there was a TREMENDOUS improvement in my RLS.

Actually the Wellbutrin works much better for me than Zoloft or Paxil ever did. Also welcome side effect for me is decreased appetite! :D

RLS dissed again on TV

OK, last time I posted I reported about something I saw on TV--I swear I am not a couch potato!! Anyway a storyline in this week's Boston Legal featured a lawsuit against pharm. companies, claiming they invent and promote diseases like RLS for profit. Of course I realize this is just a silly sitcom....

Suzanne Sommers mocks RLS

Hi Everyone-- Suzanne Sommers appeared on Fox's Hannity & Colmes this week touting her latest 'medical' tome and at the end of her spiel, said, laughingly "restless legs syndrome, REALLY, restless legs syndrome?" To put it in context, this was part of her anti-pharmaceutical rant. How ...

IMHO, as much as you want to provide every detail, they will not take the time to read every detail (esp. if the staff was as apathetic with your treatment as you describe). They'd probably skim it to see if you threaten a lawsuit and after breathing a sigh of relief, stick it in your file. This is ...

I didn't have the exact same procedure, but did receive an epidural during labor 6 years ago. Although I'm sure the medication for acute vs. chronic pain is quite different, I wanted to share my experience. My RLS was raging, worst ever, during the epidural treatment. If my mom hadn't been there to ...

Dr. Ilia Itin, Neurologist/ Movement Disorders specialist at the Cleveland Clinic; main campus, Cleveland, Ohio. I've only been his patient since March but thus far everything is perfect. How many doctors are deferential--I'm younger than him and he calls me "Mrs." Most importantly, he tak...

My RLS doc is a neurologist...I am definitely inclined towards him. Just wanted to run it by you guys first...as always thank you for your input!! I seem to recall yrs ago taking Temzamepam (sp?) in the same situation & no negative side effects. Only for a week or 2 as needed. Thanks again!

If you have non-RLS insomnia and need a sleep aid?

Do you ask your general practicioner or your RLS doc for a prescription? I get this once in a blue moon to the point that I really do need temporary relief.

Thanks for your time.

Ibuprofen gel

Hi everyone--

I'd never heard of this until recently. Just thought I'd mention that it exists to anyone who has RLS pain and/or experienced relief from this in pill form. Here in the Cleveland area you can only get it at old-time apothecaries...few and far between.

Have a good evening!

I am endlessly fascinated by the myriad drugs, conditions, lifestyle choices that worsen RLS. Never thought an antibiotic could. Also--rarely need my albuterol rescue inhaler but notice when I do use it, the legs are bad that night. Thanks for all your comments.

Good night!

Avelox-antibiotic- warning

Hi everyone-- Started taking this antibiotic 2 days ago for walking pneumonia. RLS, which had been under control, flared up as badly as when I was pregnant (worst ever for me). Did not do anything differently except take Avelox. Researched it online & it got the worst patient rating I'd ever see...
