Re: What Severe RLS is Like

Deb - I used to set 4 daily alarms on my phone. When they went off the grandchildren would shout - ""tablets Granny"... :)

Then I got lazy..... then did it some more..... and then didn't

Re: Two very different doctors' visits

Isn't it such a relief when our meds are safely in our hands. We shouldn't really have to feel such desperation.
Very glad to hear it has worked out ok and you have the bliss of better sleep.
Enjoy your break in Palm Springs - well deserved.

Re: First night ever with 0 sleep

Does movement help your symptoms? Pre medication - When I had symptoms while at work I had to stand at my desk and kind of jiggle as I worked, I had no choice. This wasn't enough movement to completely relieve symptoms but it was somewhat better than sitting. I brought a coffee table into work and p...

Re: Potassium Citrate

My RLS symptoms are 24/7 and are felt in my legs/arms and shoulders. I suffered 24/7 symptoms for many years (15) before I ever began medication. Been on medication now for about 18 years. I guess it is a blessing that I am one of the fortunate sufferers who does not have PLMD/S or any sort of invol...

Re: What Severe RLS is Like

Indeed Ann, no matter what I did, walk walk walk, and also took extra medication, the symptoms were in full swing from 2pm until after 10 pm. At about 9.30pm I took a Tramadol from the stash (as well as the other extra meds) and sure as anything, within about 20 minutes I could just feel the symptom...

Don't have time to go check - but I think Dr Earley is doing a Webinair in a few weeks on the matter of iron.

Re: What Severe RLS is Like

Well.... anyone looking in through my front room window will think I've lost the plot. I'm knitting an item that needs finished, my legs are going daft..... I'm walking up and down the room whilst knitting, with the ball of yarn trailing behind me, and wrapping itself around my feet. Best go and clo...

Re: venlafaxine withdrawal

The Ferritin Serum levels are not usually done in normal blood works, that's why you need to check with your doctor and if necessary, request that it is done. So ER told you it was dysphoria !! what do you think of their diagnosis of dysphoria ?? You hope that your doctor tomorrow will see your symp...

Re: venlafaxine withdrawal

Wild6Flower16 - you say you think your doctor checked your levels. You need to be sure that she checked your Ferritin Serum level. This is important and not usually done unless you have specifically requested it. I would suggest that you ask your doctor if this Ferritin test was performed. It is not...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Thank you for this. Don't worry about sounding like a snake oil salesman, we are always glad to hear of what has helped another sufferer. We are all so aware that what works for one .... etc.....

I'm also off to read about it.

Re: venlafaxine withdrawal

Something to consider is that you should have your Ferritin Serum level checked. It is a blood test that is not normally done with routine blood works and you need to ask for it. This tells the level of iron stored in your brain – and that is what is important to us sufferers of WED/RLS. We need a l...

Re: Starting At Emory

It's wonderful that your treatment is going so well. I have only heard of Dr Rye but would believe that you will not be disappointed. Isn't it a shame that you went through such a bad time when you first moved to South Florida. Most of us have attended doctors who proclaim to treat RLS only to find ...
