Re: What Severe RLS is Like

It's good to read that you plan to discuss it with your new GP. Please do. Years ago I took Remeron (Mirtazapine) and at about the 6 week mark (how long it took to kick in) it was like going from a rainy day to a beautiful day. It was about the 3 week mark for me. We'd had a holiday planned and I co...

Re: What Severe RLS is Like

Just to say that the antidepressant I take is Citalopram. Started at 10mg, up to 20mg, then down to 10 again. I'm actually thinking of halving the pill to take it down to 5mg, but don't want to say this to my GP in case he adjusts the prescription accordingly and I then perhaps find myself trying to...

Re: What Severe RLS is Like

Extremely sad. Some ways I am really healthy but other ways I feel defeated. Nothing will really get better and I just have to try to live with it. Eefall - you say you just have to live with it. Do you mean physically, or mentally, in particular, or the entire package. Please see your GP about you...

Re: Waking with legs tensed and extended

So this happens late at night and then doesn't happen again during the night. Or by late in the night, do you mean towards morning time which sounds more likely when it leaves you exhausted before the day has begun. A suppressed urge to go to the bathroom...... as though you need the bathroom visit ...

Re: Medication Side Effect Statistics

Aaaggghhh !! A doctor who won't accept that RLS can and does occur in the arms. A Pain Doctor no less. A tick is a tick, a sensation is so different. It's like he's trying to say that apples taste like oranges.

Re: Dipyridamole

I have had very troublesome urge to move symptoms for nearly two hours.....................the awful crawly sensation is absent.

legsbestill - I find this interesting because although I have had RLS for 30+ years I've never had the urge/need to move without the crawly sensation being present.

Re: work and sleep

This was me ten years ago. My RLS is/was 24/7 and I worked full time as a legal secretary, often going to work not having slept at all - max sleep would have been 3 or 4 fractured hours. Really not fit to be driving. Some days in the office were spent feeling quite removed from the situation. From a...

Re: Medication Side Effect Statistics

The figures from these statistics speak for themselves when it comes to the prescribing of medications. Come on - .83% opiod addiction in my mind is minimal compared to the 5% augmentation rate. With regard to the John Hopkins study on Impulse Control Disorder 9% in Parkinson's patients. I take the ...

2BassettMom - feel free to vent here, always remember that we all know how you are feeling. I can recall staying with family and didn't want to wake them with my nocturnal wanderings - it is pretty difficult to get the walking just right in a cramped space. Walking on the spot (for me) has next to n...

Re: Intermittent Fasting

The getting rid of clothes not worn for a year wouldn't work for me. I have stuff older than my oldest grandchild who is 10.
A good dark grey wool andle length overcoat lasts for ever, doesn't date, and always comes out for funerals.
