Re: BELSOMRA
My Pdoc was going to give me samples to try for ridiculous insomnia only if my RLS sleep doc was in agreement. Sleep doc was opposed since I am the Queen of Side effects and highly Rx sensitive. So... didn't get to try the samples. I understand, "low and slow" is the treatment mantra with ...

Re: Opiods
I have to take at least 5000 IUs of vitamin D a day to prevent secondary chronic depression, I am affected tremendously by the lack of light in the winter, and almost all the medications we take can make me depressed. I am also tremendously affected by SAD in the winter. I desperately need the sunl...

Re: Relaxis Pad
Do only have RLS at bedtime or do you have it in mid to later afternoon if seated or in relaxed state? I've been taking Calm Magnesium Powder for over a year at 5p.m. everyday. Only thing you might notice if loose stool. It does help relax nerves and muscles and in my case, I need the extra magnesiu...

Re: Relaxis Pad
First impressions: Relaxis has worked great for me, so far. I'm almost completely off my meds now and am gradually sleeping longer each night. No more 5 a.m. rebound! Of course, until I'm fully withdrawn from gabapentin (a months-long process, I realize), I won't be able to say with confidence whet...

Re: Opiods
Yep, that's it. I have to work/fight so hard to keep my life "plannable". I life under the constant fear that my situation switches from fragile into catastrophic. I have not yet learned how to live in the present. My anxiety fuels the fear of current fragile state worsening into catastro...

Re: Opiods
Beth and I have often talked of acceptance. It's very much as if we go through the stages of grief (as in death and dying) when faced with such diseases. We bargain, we fight, we get depressed....ultimately most of us either accept it or we keep repeating the fight against it as if the needle was s...

Re: Opiods
I do not understand. There are no more words. You all are dealing and surviving much better than I am. I guess, maybe over time, you learn. I recently read that sometimes fighting it makes it worse, meaning fighting the fact you have a chronic disease/syndrome, rather than accepting the truth/realit...

Broke down and took Horizant 2 nights ago helped some with RLS and maybe a little sleep. Taking up to 6 Ibuprofen a day and it doesn't help unless take at le...

Re: Menopause Hormone Replacement Therapy
I tried many treatments but never tolerated them. At first before I made the connection, because many birth control pills or HRT can cause blood clotting so whenever I would have some strange feelings in my legs I attributed it to the HRT and would stop. Other time I had to stop because of breast fi...

Re: Opioids and PPIs, and drug interactions
I'm stopping the omeprazole (PPI) to see. Vandy GI had me on aggressive dose. Two pills a day, one before breakfast and one before supper and then add the famotidine at bedtime. I also have osteoporosis and I know these GERD med's are not good for that. I am taking B12 daily but in capsule form so l...

Re: Opioids
10 days off low dose methadone and last night was horrific. Not just due to the RLS, seems more like pain in my knees and thighs than the creepy crawlies in calves. Anyhow, cried most of the night. And I do not understand why even when I can get the RLS settled with Ibuprofen and OTC Hyland's Restfu...

Re: Open question #8: Antidepressants and WED
I thought I had read somewhere than SNRI's may not exacerbate RLS as bad as SSRI's or Tricyclics? Does anyone take Cymbalta without exacerbating RLS?
