I also spend 2 or 3 hours each night 'just awake', mostly rls symptoms are under control, but I'm just awake. Could be a side effect of the meds. Or could be a habit which has evolved from when my symptoms were more active during the night. Good luck with the Neurontin. You will find Dr Bs book a gr...

I did have a very bad flight experience but can't say it was pain or hurting. I was on a 9 hour direct flight from London to Edmonton Canada and had just started DA medication for rls so was not awfully familiar and certainly did not know that it took up to 2 hours for a DA to become effective. I we...

Welcome to the board. I also had difficulty with work due to lack of sleep. However I reached retirement age just in time cos it was getting really bad. With regard to disability I think I have seen occasional posts regarding this subject and I suggest that you do a search of the site. You will see ...

I am also on a mission to spread the word. Recently I have started to play (use the term loosely) golf and some of the ladies asked me to join them at their usual Tuesday evening practice/coffee/chat. I am the newbie in their group of about 8. Last evening the weather was dreadful and about 5 of us ...

I sent an email to the column 2 days ago saying I didn't agree with the advice given, giving basic information, and providing several links to back up the information, i.e. RLS Foundation home page, Southern California Site, the Mayo Algorithm and referring to Dr Bs book and our own discussion board...

Hi Gill Good to hear from you. Sorry I don't know anything about Pregabilin but someone else will no doubt be able to discuss this with you. You say you can't take any more than your current dose because of other meds you are taking. In the meantime, until someone else responds, can you tell us, for...

doety, I don't know a lot about the pharmacology side of meds, but I suspect that if you've only been taking it for a month, then although stopping it cold is likely to mean your symptoms are more severe for a time, perhaps this length of time won't be too long. If you decide to stop the Requip - Do...

Medical Column - Local Paper
My attention has just been drawn to a medical column in today's local Sunday paper, as follows: Q: I suffer from restless legs syndrome and my husband is at the end of his tether. What can I do to help this? A: Restless legs syndrome can affect up to 10% of adults and is a sensation that makes you w...
