Re: Bupropion (Wellbutrin)

Well, so much for Wellbutrin. My psychopharm says people taking this medication are much more prone to seizures from serotonin syndrome than those taking other SSRIs, or SNRIs. That said, I've had two sleepless nights in a row...:-(

Bupropion (Wellbutrin)

I take a plethora of rx drugs for depression, anxiety, back pain/sciatica. Thinking about trying bupropion in place of the venlafaxine because of it's a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor. It is, however, a very weak DA...has anyone used it and had success with WED as well as depression? The...

Re: New Member - Credibility Problem

Great information, suggestions, experiences from all. I can't express how grateful I am. I'm making my way through various topics in the forums. I feel awful that there are so many of us who experience this, but am very grateful that a number of treatments actually help, and are available! It's like...

Re: New Member - Credibility Problem

Back from the pain doc, and they decided to keep me on buprenorphine (low dose, 2 MG whenever possible). Changing medications can be a b*&%%$, but I'd still be open to DA. Weird though, I get really scared. Anticipatory anxiety I think, when I'm changing drugs...especially if you're not sure it'...

Re: New Member - Credibility Problem

EeFall, I actually have read that withdrawal symptoms can either bring on, exacerbate, mimic WED. I live in California, and I don't know if the laws are the same all over, but the Pain Medicine clinic I go to cannot have more than 40 patients at a time on buprenorphine, which is why they told me to ...

Re: having ferritin serum level checked

Thanks Steve and Ann, for clarification. I have started increasing ferritin, and intend to have my doctor check it overall next week.
Many thanks.

Re: New Member - Credibility Problem

Wow, thanks everyone for the responses. I'm also currently on Effexor and Mirtazapine for depression, so I am a little anxious about adding a dopamine agonist in the mix. I know I've done the opioids and they work, so I was thinking in that direction. However, I will discuss these with my psychophar...

New Member - Credibility Problem

Hi all, Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome! I began having traditional symptoms of RLS in my childhood. It was never addressed by doctors, or taken seriously by my family. Going to bed every night was a horror. Then the symptoms sort of went into "remission." Recurred periodical...

Re: having ferritin serum level checked

I've read that taking serum ferritin may not do anything for WED, because of the blood brain barrier. Researchers have postulated that it's the brain iron that determines the deficiency that can exacerbate WED. So, testing blood and organs may show an adequate supply of iron, but only a cerebralspin...
