Re: Medical Marijuana in non-recreational US states
Florida’s laws are a joke. My neurologist told me he was getting into the marijuana business. He said since I had skin cancer before he could treat me for RLS. I see him now four times a year just to get Clonazepam. For MJ I would have to see him 8 (cash for 4). Then whatever they charge for the pro...

PA’s Diagnosis
Every other time I go to Neurologist I see his PA. Both have heavy accents so communication is not great. Not surprising since a third of US docs are foreign born. Anyways the PA tells me my pain that I take Lyrica for is the deterioration of the muscle in my thighs from repeated jerking day and esp...

Re: BEST MATTRESS FOR RLS
I’ve been sold on Tempur-Pedic for a long time. We have a house full now. I picked the most firm one when we finally upgraded to a king. Big mistake. Expensive to do over.

I never hear why hematologist are so leery of more iron. My MD says it is organ failure related but no details.

Re: Lyrica 300+
I take 150 mg about 7pm then 150 mg +2 mg clonazepam at bedtime. The goal is to get to sleep quickly. Makes RLS bearable barely. Good weeks followed by bad weeks with no apparent trigger. I have not asked about increasing dosage only because I'm running out of options. Best of Luck Wontok My neurolo...

Re: Movement Disorder Specialist--Really?
I'd consider myself lucky if Gabapentin works well for you long run. I think it is about the most benign of the drugs used to treat RLS. I was on Requip XL for a year and it was a horrible, the lost year of my life. A little bit of codeine and I'm all bound up so I can't imagine what a real opiate w...

Re: Lyrica side effects
I'm taking 300 mg of Lyrica and 2 mg Clonazepam. I've tried just about everything else and this minimises daytime RLS, allows me to sleep with less PLMS and has minimal side effects. I would not operated heavy machinery after taking it but that goes without saying. I take 150 mg about 7 pm, another ...

Re: Lyrica questions
My Neurologist bumped my Lyrica script up to 2 x 150 mg plus 2 mg Clonazepam and I'm sleeping like a baby. I take 1 cap an hour followed by Clonazepam just before bed. Daytime issues are at a minimum. I never thought I would be putting all these drugs in my body but at 63 I've decided to maximise qu...

IV Iron Revisited
Stjohnh, I just read on another post you have achieved complete relief with IV Iron. That is amazing! You are the only person I know of that has achieved that degree of relief and did not just post their complicated supplements and life style changes that befit a monk. Some come on once and claim to...

I would feel confined and my legs would go crazy. I know this going back 50 years when my RLS was a tiny fraction of what it is now.

Re: Ferritin increased with oral iron, now what?
I would agree with QyX, you are doing great. Small dose of meds and doing the right things to keep the Monster at bay. I'm taking your iron approach and have been for over a year. I did notice when I got lax in my routine the iron dropped significantly. I have scripts to have more iron testing befor...

Re: Vitamin B1
I've tried the benfotiamine thiamine supplement a couple of times now without immediate relief. With all the other vitamins and drugs I take I have not found a time in my routine to stay with it. It seems a little rough on the stomach. Along the other line, I used to run and averaged 15 miles a week...

We changed to Tempurpedic about a decade ago. Biggest advantage was my wife was able to live with my increasing PLMS. An improvement in both of our comfort but not RLS symptoms.

I've been on Pregabalin 150 mg and Clonazepam 2 mg for over a year without any significant side effects. Before the addition of Pregabalin, RLS had gotten worse and worse to the point of significant pain in my thighs and PLMS in the evening and night. Not like I don't deal with RLS on a daily basis ...

Re: Vitamin B1
I just popped my first benfotiamine thiamine supplement. What caught my eye was our workout routine and alcohol consumption seem to be similar (although I'm slowing down at 63) and I'm willing to invest $20 in a shot in the dark. I've tried everything else so why not. Fingers crossed. Rick
