Re: Toddler with possible RLS

As background about the author.... Picchietti - Daniel, that is - has had RLS since he was a kid. His dad, a doc, is an expert in RLS and was on the Foundation's advisory board at some point. Daniel went into medicine and focuses on RLS in kids. Kinda cool :-). If I had a kid with RLS and lived near...

Re: Neupro side effects

The only time - in my limited personal experience - I have wrongly accused a medication of augmentation was when I had also stopped opioids. Many people mistakenly think that opioid withdrawal causes RLS. It doesn't. It causes some kind of akathesia that is very darn similar to RLS. I had it specifi...

Re: Toddler with possible RLS

I just saw this article today...but do not have access to it. Does anyone? Might be helpful for our parents and those who have children in their care that have RLS and/or PLMS.

Re: Medication Side Effect Statistics

This truly is the most frustrating syndrome I have ever experienced including shingles in my ear and thyroid cancer. I do wish doctors would listen to us as intelligent informed individuals. So sorry you are still suffering so. And, what a testament to how difficult this disease can be! I also wish...

Re: Broken ankle second night on methadone

That is good news! Sounds like she is in good hands with you helping - doing research, advocating for her. It saddens (and angers) me, but doesn't surprise me, to hear that people still need to do such advocacy with the nurses, doctors, and other staff. I hate to think of what would have happened to...

Re: Next Foundation Webinar - Opioid Advocacy

If you haven't seen it through some other channel, this link provides a summary of the Foundation's trip to Washington, D.C. to advocate for us. It includes a mention of delivering the letters that many of us wrote. https://rlsfoundation.blogspot.com/2018/03/rls-foundation-in-washington-dc.html THI...

Re: Toddler with possible RLS

Hi - I can't really help, but I was that toddler. My parents had no idea what it was; for me, it was PLMS - periodic limb movements in sleep - at that age. I didn't get waking RLS until my early teens. I know that we say RLS is while waking and PLMS is while sleeping but I am relatively sure I have ...

Re: Broken ankle second night on methadone

It takes me about five days to get to a reasonable level of methadone when I reduce it and need to restart it. For those five days, I never have good control. 2.5 mg is a teeny amount, but could be enough - just too early for it to work as well as it will when it builds up.

Re: Intermittent Fasting

Glad to hear it helped, yawny. My nephew lost about 70 pounds and has kept it off for about two years now. He does a 20/5 - so his eating window is short! PB - I totally eat more when I have insomnia, and even more when I have both insomnia and RLS. Eating distracts me from the RLS and the ennui tha...

Oh - the article. I didn't read it in detail or look for citations - I was reading it on my phone simply because it showed up on my feed, lol.
