Gill, Osteo arthritis and rls.... not a good combination to have to cope with. What are you hoping to achieve with the leg massage? Unfortunately as those of us with rls get older it is more than likely we will be dealing with the combination of rls and some form of arthritis. I know that I am alrea...

I really, really hope the patch works for you. The thought of being in a cast and being without adequate rls relief is horrendous.

Sorry, but I've never heard of anyone having rls and then it just going away for good.

Wayne - when you mention having had chemo as a teenager it kinda puts a bit of weight gain into perspective. Trust you are now well. Yes, the craving to eat, its not even about feeling hungry, its just wanting to eat. I am really now trying to control that urge, tho it is not normal weight gain as i...

Thanks Ann, I have to admit that even pre-steroid I didn't go in at the middle as much as I'd have liked. My thoughts are more on the line of wondering at what point of dosage of medication does the weight/puffiness start to shift. Hmmm... probably no answer to that, kind of like how long is a piece...

On my tummy with legs bent at the knee and feet in the air.
If you shuffle down the sofa until your knees touch the arm rest, the arm rest helps to prop up the knees.

Not great for sleeping, but helps when lying on the sofa to watch tv.

I was so pleased with myself - tho today my thighs feel like they've been hammered with a baseball bat.

I have no real talent for it and have to work hard at it, but that's ok.
Good enough, will do me.

Well done getting through your drug holiday.

And to have a doctor who wants to learn, and that you trust, worth millions. :)

First 18 holes of golf on the 'real course' having progressed from the 9-hole par 3 practice course. 6 months ago DH and I had never held a golf club and we got introduced to it by one of our sons, went along to the driving range one evening just to please son and be sociable. Hmmm... I kind of understand in theory what its about with the computer software but putting it all into practice is another thing. I don't even own an ipod or an MP3 player, have never put photographs from camera onto the computer, not great at using the DVD player - mostly because I haven't tried ...

That sounds quite scary.

I am not on Mirapex, I use ropinerole which is the generic requip and is similar, but have not experienced anything like this.

However, I think I recall having heard of this before but don't know where.

Thank you Carol, it just goes to show how we are all different in our 'solutions'. Personally I seek something cold, a tiled floor for example.

Glad you have something that works so well for you.

Taking the mirapex with food may help.
I take omeprazole which definitely helps tho it is for another condition. And perhaps you don't with to add another medication to the list :)

My creepy crawly would be under the surface, the ache would be deeper, and the burning would be on the surface.

Burning is usually leg/s, and feet, rarely the arms.
Creepy crawlies is generally all over the affected limb/ limbs, not just a particular area.
