Re: best iron suppliment to increase ferritin levels?

My GP has offered me iron injections but I asked Dr Buchfuhrer about them and he does not favour them. Can’t remember why but it sounded plausible. A member of a UK forum uses iron patches that she imports from the US and her serum ferritin has increased considerably. PatchMD is the site she buys th...

Re: Medication causing Apathy?

It’s great that you are so proactive, Steve. I hope the tramadol er affords you some good sleep. It sounds like you could do with it.

Re: Medication causing Apathy?

Steve, have you been taking breaks from the cannabis? I seem to recall you experienced a bad bout a year or two ago which you attributed to prolonged cannabis use. I’m sure you’ve thought of this but thought I’d mention it in case ... I hope you get to the bottom of the problem. Absence of joy - or ...

Re: dipyridamole

Oh yes, I should have listed my other drugs. My regime is complicated - usually I take pramipexole (0.044mg) and pregabalin (lyrics) - gradually reducing and now down to an almost negligible 30mg. I have just finished a 3 week break from mirapexin during which I used Kratom to control my symptoms. W...

Re: dipyridamole

Hi srgraves01, I am one of the two dipyridamole experimenters. Although it does not eliminate symptoms, I am very glad I take dipyridamole. It helps to make the rls more bearable and definitely improves daytime well being. In the study, many of the subjects achieved complete relief using dipyridamol...

Re: Neupro

That's affirming to hear, Ann. Most people seem to get on well with neupro. I kept thinking I must be mistaken when I found it less effective. I am currently taking a break from pramipexole - this is day 8 - and it is misery. Kratom, which used to work reasonably well, is not really dealing with the...

Re: Neupro

I was put on neupro by my sleep consultant after withdrawing from pramipexole following augmentation. She left a gap of about three months between stopping pramipexole and starting neupro. I never found neupro to be as effective as pramipexole. I also started to augment on neupro quite quickly. I ha...

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

Ldn update: I wish I could say that it helps my rls but if it does it is minimal. I have read accounts by some people who found it completely resolved their symptoms but sadly that has not been the case for me. Maybe it will work that way for you - fingers crossed. I do think it helps me feel well a...

Re: varicose vien removal and rls!!

Your story is heartbreaking. To induce false hope like that is almost criminal and surely negligent. You are definitely in for a hard time coming off the dopamine agonists without the help of an opioid BUT it will ultimately be worth it. If you are in an area where Kratom is legal it might be worth ...

Re: New on Requip - question

I wish I had known what I now do when I first started taking a dopamine agonist (in my case mirapexin but from same family as your requip). I would say it is important not to ‘chase’ the symptoms with the drug. If you find that the dose of requip that currently works for you becomes inadequate, titr...

Re: Sleeping position relating to RLS symptoms

I find sleeping on my back optimal for rls symptom reduction. If I lie on my sides it can induce an attack. Lying on my front is occasionally helpful during an attack but I rarely choose to sleep that way. Unfortunately sleeping on my back exacerbates my snoring and, according to my sleep study, my ...

Yes; I became extremely limber during my pramipexole withdrawal as I was doing a yoga routine 3 or 4 times a night.

Re: Dipyridamole and cannabis interaction

Thanks so much for that, Holland. I knew you were taking both and was particularly interested to hear your view, especially in light of your background. I am not a worrier by nature but I try to avoid an overly cavalier attitude. My GP is so accommodating that I am pretty much self-medicating, a sit...
