RLS, DEPRESSION, AND LIFE--and an apology
Hi, This is Jan I've been up all night. Not unusual for us RLS people, huh? But, I'm really bothered about a statement I made in a post yesterday and the implications it might have and I'd like to explain what might have made me say what I said. I've been very sensitive lately. I know some of you ha...

Hi, this is Jan I take Mirapex, 1 mg. 2 x daily, BUT I take both tabs at bedtime because I experienced daytime drowsiness so badly I would fall asleep driving and my doctor advised me to take both at night. I have been on Mirapex for several years. I believe I started at .125 mgs. and gradually incr...

Good for you!!!
Lyndarae Hi, This is Jan I just wanted to send you some (((hugs))) and let you know that my neurologist told me that he thought years ago many people self-medicated by drinking. Sometimes, you do what you have to do when you don't know what else to do. Did that make sense? I know exactly what you me...

I' m Sorry!!
I know I'm not well liked by some members of this discussion board, but I'm answering your post anyway, Guest, because I feel your pain, I REALLY DO. No one really knows what another is going through until they walk in that person's shoes. That may sound like such a cliche, but it is so true. You ar...

"They" don't know anything about RLS
Hi, this is Jan I'm not allergic to antibiotics, BUT, I was in the hospital not long ago for surgery, and I know what you mean by no one (medical personnel) knowing about RLS!! They looked at me like I was crazy too. I had to have surgery and you know how before you go into surgery they give you dru...

activity and RLS
Hi Little Lamb. This is Jan. I've always been pretty active--into aerobics, chasing after kids, etc., and I've had RLS for at least 20 years. I'm 56 now and I have the kind that hurts (at least it has started hurting in the last 6 months or so). I really don't know anyone personally who has it, othe...

Welcome RonH!
Hi RonH! I'm Jan and I'm 56. I've had RLS for about 20 years. Your point about people's sleep patterns changing as they age is correct. I do not require as much sleep as I used to. I usually get only 5 hours sleep a night (and I'm on Mirapex and Clonzapem for my RLS, so it's under control right now)...

Nadia
It's so good to hear from you, Nadia. (This is Jan). I've been wondering how you've been doing. Sounds like, even though you've been having some problems, you had some good times on your trip! We have to appreciate the good times when we get them, don't we? And, if anyone does, YOU do!!! It's always...

Hi again Little Lamb
This is Jan again. I answered a post to you in another thread. It might have been New to RLS. Becat is absolutely right. Remember, I mentioned ORP also? As I said then, not only can you post your experiences (like she said) for other people, but you can read what other people have written and learn ...

Hi Little Lamb I'm Jan and I've had RLS for approx 20 years. Welcome!! I'm sorry you have RLS. Do you have that creepy-crawly sensation in your legs so that you feel as if you have to move them? Does it feel better if you get out of bed and walk? Just checking! I've been a paralegal for about 28 yea...
