Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study

I took the Suboxone to get off Methadone. You know, everything works pretty well at first and the Methadone did work. Then I realized I was falling asleep in the car, even when I was talking to someone. My daughter told me she couldn't leave me with my grandson -- and I don't blame her. It was amazi...

Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study

I add my thanks and profound gratitude to you. Even though I think my daughter will soon have it fullblown, I can't make myself go through that. I've talked to the folks at JH and they are truly wonderful,...when I've talked by phone they always take as much time as I need. I took almost a year to g...

Affect of diet?

About six days ago, I went on one of those commercial diets, where you check in a lot, drink shakes, eat a certain diet and this particular diet has tons of supplements. My sleep has gone to hell. I had a pretty good thing going with various meds, and now I just lay there and eventually get WED. I u...

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex

Thanks for all the good information. Ann, I didn't know you were getting infusions --- wishing you the best luck with that. After that study came out last summer, I feel like we have even less direction than before. (and of course I'm glad all that is going on...)To me, that means we experiment on o...

Question

This is a little off-topic. I'm rotating various drugs, taking two pills each night, one of which is a mild opiate (codeine, for instance). I was wondering if it's okay to use Mirapex from time to time. I do remember the hell I went through to get off it (and clonazepam and, and, and)....am trying t...

Checking In

Haven't checked in for a while -- and that's good news. I struggled so hard to get off various meds in the last two years, the ones that were augmenting, and making my life miserable, and I couldn't be happier for things to go well (right now, I'm rotating various drugs, including a mild opiate each...

Re: My "final" mixture and some news from experts I met

Wasn't putting anyone down -- I would never do that. I think we'd all like to have one pill or one regime we could follow to deal with this mess. My daughter's father has RLS, too, unfortunately, and she seems to be on the road to getting it. Makes me sick! Good luck to all.

Another take

When I saw the title with "final" in it, I thought uh-oh. How many of us have thought that...how many times. I now believe this is a moving target, at least for now, and that we have to accept the slippery-ness of it. I've been discouraged recently when two people who care about me (but ar...

Re: More on stopping Mirapex (sorry....)

I'm still groggy -- using Methadone to sleep at night. I'm sure I'll be able to use less and less and hope to think more clearly. And in case someone is actually paying attention to all this; WARNING. I sounded very casual in that last post about "maybe I'll throw in some Tramadol." NONONO...

Re: More on stopping Mirapex (sorry....)

Good morning -- and I mean it. Two nights of sleeping and I am so grateful. Not sure what the plan is now... I think I started augmenting on Tramadol...when I took it at night, I would get WED immediately. Guess I'll use Methadone (last night: 10 mg) for a while although (Ann, you're right) I don't ...

Re: More on stopping Mirapex (sorry....)

Hi Jakesmom: You were really my inspiration -- when I read, day after day, about the hell you went through AND you were working, I thought what a wimp I am!! I believe your co-workers deserve medals, too. So important to have friendships like that. REading all the details of what you went through wa...

Re: More on stopping Mirapex (sorry....)

Thanks for that, Ann. I agree with everything -- it does feel better than anything I've taken. And yet -- I hate taking it because it just stops everything I'm doing. AND YET if I felt as bad as I did before I took it, I couldn't do a damned thing. My emotions and my logical mind often don't go toge...

Re: More on stopping Mirapex (sorry....)

thank you for writing that... I'm always too optimistic. I don't know why I thought it would only take me a week...nobody has said that! I just thought getting off this would be like getting off the last drug. When I stopped Suboxone, it was nine days of walking hell, but when it stopped, it was gon...
