If you are using OTC potassium, your dose is actually very small, the prescription strengths (10 mEq, 20 mEq) are the oral strengths that present problems. hyperkalemia (high potassium levels) is known to cause heart beat irr...

ken, Ironically, Synthroid was one of the drugs we didn't use a generic for until about 4 years ago. Narrow Therapeutic Index was the code word for three different drugs with no generic approved by the FDA.. synthroid, dilantin, and lanoxin. all three now have generic equivalents. just to add a few comments to josh's post..... once a drug has lost it's patent (and a generic is approved), VERY FEW patients remain on the brand name drug. one chain pharmacy i worked for (shall remain nameless) said to eliminate the brand name within 6 months of the generic being available. Insur...

been taking it since 1991, and at 270lbs i'm not at ideal body weight. once i was near 4mg day it seemed to spiral quickly, with tolerance developing.

now you can see why the bosses in the pharmacy wanted me to change my meds :-)

[quote="ViewsAskew"]Ed, is the Requip working? I only ask because I know it has you titrate up per the package instructions, but many people get relief long before you get to what it says to use.

not sure how to answer this until I have withdrawn from the clonazepam

maddie i'm tapering off clonazepam.. because my MD wants me to, and the state doesn't like to see pharmacists using addictive medications. as of march I was using 8mg at bedtime. excessive salivation wasn't a very "manly" side effect i'm on a requip starter pack, and i'm three days into 1m...
