Too good to be true?
I really can't believe how wonderful my new neurologist is. Had my 1st follow-up visit with him today. Between my first visit, a fax/phone call, and today's visit, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for his knowledge, caring and patience. He is the 4th dr I've seen in the last few years in my attempts ...

EXCELLENT Ohio RLS doc
Hi Everyone-- Dr. Ilia Itin, Cleve Clinic neurologist, is outstanding. Saw him a month ago after dissatisfaction with another RLS specialist. Older than me and called me "Mrs." Was respectful to the extent I felt like he was a service provider looking to please me, not the intimidating dem...

Prednisone/severe allergy treatments
Hi everyone! This allergy season is the worst I've experienced in at least 10 yrs. I'm not responding to various allergy meds, so my ENT put me on 50 mg of pred for 5 days until I have a scratch test to help him figure out what to do next. For anyone who took prednisone--did it send your RLS into a ...

Mirapex-nausea-your opinions?
My new doc just started me on .125 of Mirapex. I'm even taking an anti-nausea drug, Tigan, 3x daily to counteract Mirapex nausea. For those of you on Mirapex, did you experience severe nausea at first but it tapered off? I am deathly nauseas even with the max dose of Tigan. Also--hungry as a horse, ...

Thanks for all your comments, as always. I really can't do worse than the previous doc. After having what I thought was a great initial appointment--he listened, wasn't arrogant etc--it went downhill. Waited 5 weeks of trying Requip to call his office and relate I that felt very depressed since star...

Prayer
I'd been putting off scheduling a follow-up with my new RLS specialist, probably b/c I'm becoming quite disillusioned with drs. and this condition. Even the so-called RLS specialists. Also takes 2-3 mos to get in to see them. So this morning I prayed..which I haven't done in a looong time....just a ...

How awful. Bad enough to have surgery but the lack of knowledge from an MD on top of that. I also can't believe you wouldn't automatically receive fent or another strong opiate post-op. If you had to go under the knife one would assume strong pain relief would be in order. Your anesth. sounds like a...

Really sad to read these follow-up posts. Some advice--work on your con game. I have 13 yrs sales experience and as such am a pro BSer. Have learned to never outright ask for the pain meds, or reveal too much knowledge about medicine. Could hurt the doc's fragile pride. Am currently playing along wi...

I am on .25 and planning to get off it entirely ASAP. Was spost to ramp up each week until it worked...got up to .75 and felt drugged up/half-dead and almost suicidally depressed. And I am not a delicate flower when it comes to meds...over the years have been on various heavy-duty meds for acute con...

Reading your post truly fills my heart with hope for humanity. That you took the time to read and evaluate the symptoms of someone you don't even know, send a follow-up email....who knows how your input may vastly improve the girl's life. Boy am I glad I found this site--helpful to me and illustrate...

As always, thank you for your reassurance. Sometimes just feel like I'm losing it. Think I sound articulate, I keep things low-key, know how to play the docs for lack of a better description. So not coming off like the nutcase I truly am when dealing with the docs office. So 1.5 weeks later call the...

Am I in a parallel universe?
Just wanted to post a lighthearted comment to diffuse my RLS frustration. Seems like every time I check this forum someone's doc OK's opioids for their treatment (and I can truly feel your relief). Am I really on the same planet as everyone here or on the "Lost" island? All I ever hear from friends ...
