That’s so great Betty...wish we had that here in the US.
Holland, have you seen the manufacturer’s savings program? Years ago I couldn’t afford a very expensive prescription so I checked out the manufacturer’s website and they had discount coupons that helped immensely.

Prescription Savings $$$
I just learned about GoodRX.com and RXSaver.RetailMeNot.com...they really work, I saved substantial money at my pharmacy on my last prescription renewal. On one prescription alone I saved $45. I presented coupons from both websites, for each medication, and my pharmacy only accepted one of the compa...

Re: best iron suppliment to increase ferritin levels?
My GP has offered me iron injections but I asked Dr Buchfuhrer about them and he does not favour them. Can’t remember why but it sounded plausible. A member of a UK forum uses iron patches that she imports from the US and her serum ferritin has increased considerably. PatchMD is the site she buys t...

Re: best iron suppliment to increase ferritin levels?
My stomach’s sensitivity changes from day to day but I didn’t really take notice of this until recently. I’m getting better sleep so I’m more aware of things which is not always a blessing, lol. I had been taking 3 iron pills for over a year and all of a sudden it started hurting my stomach. So I lo...

Re: Sleeping position relating to RLS symptoms
Has anyone else found a correlation between sleeping position and symptoms? I’m a side sleeper too. I’ve found that sleeping on my back brings on RLS symptoms. I suspect it’s from pressure on my lower back because I can get the same symptoms sitting in the evening but they stop if I sit sideways wi...

Re: How long does it take for Lyrica to start working?
As far as side effects and increasing doses of Gabapentin...when I first started taking Gabapentin and was ramping up, I got to 300mg and the next day felt so very drugged all day so I figured 200mg was my max. 200mg definitely helped so I stayed at that dose. I asked my doctor if there were any opt...

Re: Gluten Sensitivity and RLS
I’ve tried going gluten free and I’ve seen no difference in my symptoms. In fact some of my best sleeps have been after a dinner of wheat pasta. My doctor told me that many of her patients can eat wheat products imported from Italy as the wheat is not the same as in the US. I looked and my pasta hap...

Re: Medical Marijuana
I find that the thc calms my legs, but makes my mind active, even the indica. Still the relief from the pain is very welcome. THC makes my mind active too, to the point where I can’t sleep and walls become very interesting to stare at. What works for me is CBN (not CBD) and you get it by ageing the...

Re: Latest on TENS Unit Use for Nighttime Symptoms
Sounds like our symptoms are very similiar. Thanks for the feedback, it really helps. I’m going to give the TENS Unit and music a try. Years ago when I was on my own in my first apartment, I used music to get to sleep and it was so successful. I used the same soundtrack every night, Out Of Africa, a...

Re: Latest on TENS Unit Use - Update
I think I'm seeing an interesting trend. Didn't want to speak too soon, as I know this PLMD stuff ebbs and flows in intensity, but in all these years, it has never not been an issue. After about 7 years being off meds for my legs and using a TENS only for treatment that has given acceptable relief,...

Re: Dipyridamole
Well, I tried Dipyridamole. Not only did it not improve my symptoms but it increased my hyperawareness which made it even harder to sleep through my PLMS. That’s the opposite of what the study suggested, but I’m always in that rare group that has idiosyncratic reactions — the same thing happened to ...

Re: Airsickness meds?
I buy most things on Amazon and you can get crystallized ginger there. There’s one that people seem to love called Gin-gins and the company The Ginger People, makes several different forms of ginger candy. m But you can also find ginger candy at most health food or grocery stores. It’s very strong t...

Re: Airsickness meds?
Joanie60, I’ve been throwing up from motion sickness my entire life. I can’t suggest any medications but a few things I’ve figured out over the years have helped improve the odds of keeping things down. 1)If you can keep yourself as cold as possible even to the point of discomfort. Something about b...

Re: random rant about a doctor
Barbeegee, There is a well respected RLS specialist many people on this board reference and see, Dr Buchfuhrer, and he specifies on his website that benzos are the “first class of medication to be considered for mild RLS/PLMD problems which occur only at bedtime/sleep and do not regularly impair sle...
