Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Re nausea - at the risk of sounding very alternative-medicine-y, I have also heard that Apple Cider Vinegar can be effective in combatting it. Not sure if you can get it in Thailand though. Actually, I saw a post on another rls website that some have found it (ACV) useful for treating rls itself but...

Thanks lads, I am probably over-anxious. You all know how tricky it is finding your feet post-augmentation. I still haven't got over the awful time getting off pramipexole when I swore I would never go back on a DA again and, like so many others, I don't have access to a genuinely knowledgable/inter...

I mean 'soul'; ie not a flat fish.
Are you still weaning off ropinerole?

Re: Ropinerole withdrawal, oxycodone, & LDN
Madmom, do you have symptoms all day? I would find it hard to get full relief with just 10mg of Oxycodone at a time. I would need more like 15 or 20 mg in one go at bedtime and then maybe another 10 later in the night if I was relying solely on Oxycodone for relief. But I only get symptoms badly at ...

Beth, so sorry to hear of your loss and also your mother's difficulties. You have been so helpful to many on this site, I'm sure you have been a great comfort to your mother. Thinking of you and hoping you are coping.

How to recognize augmentation on neupro
I'm not sure if my recent need for increased dose of neupro was augmentation. I have been off it for a week. I think the rls was more pronounced after eliminating the neupro than my baseline figure but not by much. I am going to stay off it for 14 days to give it a chance to wash out. Given its 24 h...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Best of luck, David. It is such a pain dealing with the seemingly endless difficulties thrown up by rls and the treatment drugs.

Re: Improved symptoms - what now?
Hi Steve, thanks for the response. It sounds as though you are now getting better sleep. I'm very pleased to hear it. I probably could stay on 1 mg neupro. It's just I'm paranoid about augmenting again so that now if I need a higher dose of da my response is to cut down (eliminate) rather than incre...

Re: Improved symptoms - what now?
Belated update: my consultant suggested a sleep study which I had last week. She was looking for sleep problems additional to rls. My mixed med system of 1mg neupro patch, 5mg OxyContin and 50 to 75 mg pregabalin had been working pretty well. Unfortunately last week a few days before the sleep study...

Re: Crocheting!
That sounds like such a stylish look, Polar Bear. It would still look great even today. Did you feel fantastic in it? I would have loved an outfit like that. I too still have the crocheted blankets my mother made and they are lovely but she never made anything cool like a dress. I love crocheted clo...

Re: What is "Good Sleep Hygiene" RLS Style?
My sleep consultant maintains that there is a reduction in rls symptoms towards dawn when the body temp starts to rise again after dropping earlier in the night. I can't remember all the science. Perhaps this is why you get better results with a much later bedtime. Unfortunately my rls has not heard...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Hi David, you may have already tried it but ginger is a surprisingly effective in combatting nausea. You can get it in capsule form or as a tea or just grate fresh ginger and steep it in hot water with a spoonful of honey. I don't actually know what the active substance is but have never seen ginger...

Re: Approaching a Doctor
Yawny speaks much wisdom. I too learned more from this website than from any medical professional - as well as gaining huge emotional support. I do not know where I would be without it and the generous souls who post here. It REALLY helped me in my interactions with my medical professionals. It is a...

Re: Restiffic and Relaxis Information
Thanks a lot for detailed feedback. It's great to get some idea how these devices work and you describe it really well. I hope you continue to improve and with luck the foot wraps are rendered unnecessary.

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Everyone is different but I have not found gabapentin to be particularly effective for actual leg jerks - only for combating the alerting effect of opiates. When my leg jerks play up I increase my opiate intake which for you would mean increasing the methadone. I always reduce the dose again after a...
