Re: Depression....again
Sure does sound like side effects to me And yucky ones at that! I am too quick to stop meds because of yucky side effects but when I fight it out, seems to take a month for them to subside. Congrats on your carrot/celery binging. Even if junk food gets in there, you are minimizing it with veggies!!

Re: Depression....again
Made me laugh too!! Not sure if would have made me laugh if the big black dog was barking at my door (depression) but one thing I love about this forum...I KNOW, with every living cell in my body, even the ones who are going haywire right now, jumping and twitching, that you guys have my back. You k...

Re: Depression....again
I do better setting tiny goals for myself..instead of a "walk", which can feel overwhelming (I'm picturing 5 miles you know), I tell myself to go to the mailbox (across the street) and try to get to the end of our street (exactly two houses away lol). Just stepping foot outside is the hard...

Re: Morphine pump & Deep Brain Stimulation questions
Ed, I was just catching up on some old posts and saw your message. Steve (Rustsmith) just posted info about his appointment with a new doctor, thought you might be interested. Again, this is not MY experience, but I am sure you could ask Steve about it! I met with my doctor at the Univ of Colorado M...

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
That would have been too easy, huh?? RLS is so weird. Mine is not "painful" exactly, but without meds (when I forget and run a couple hours behind) I end up in unrelenting tears. The misery...oh the misery. I know I am three hours from relief. Then I think of people in real physical pain (...

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
Steve, I am THRILLED for you!!! I mean really really happy. I had only slight problems with methadone in the beginning (I think slight nausea?) and it WILL go away. I found Activia yogurt helps keep things moving. The best part in the whole wide world is the long half-life. I take 10mg at 10:00am an...

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
mhalusic, the scary part of my situation is that my Doc is in the same practice as ONE OF THE AUTHORS!!! With that said, you've given me excellent advice and I will follow it I keep "The Book" handy and will copy pages 206-208. Steve, good luck tomorrow! Please let us know how it goes Joanie

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
THAT is what I am wrestling with right now Ann. My confidence that I will be understood, given tools for healing and comfort, be heard, and be in partnership with my doctor just got flushed down the toilet. I feel like, even if my Doc comes to her senses and continues to prescribe Methadone, she can...

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
Excellent analysis Steve. Particularly frightening when the staff of Dr. Early & Dr. Allen are now pushing back on opiates. I'll give an update after my appointment in mid April.

Re: Opiate low level 24 hr vs treat just symptoms
Ivan, before switching to Methadone, I was on 15mg of Oxycodone as you are, but I have symptoms 24/7 so I spread them out over the day (5mg morning, 5mg afternoon, 5mg evening). The webinar was very interesting, and certainly worth the price of membership (not to mention all the other benefits..if y...

Re: is it possible to find a long term solution
I'm not sure I ever go more than three hours in a row without being aware of my RLS. Yes, methadone has helped tremendously. But being symptom free for 24 hours? In my book, that is right up there with winning the Powerball. I have been on every drug invented for RLS. And methadone (15mg per day) ma...

Re: On methadone, need quick fix...
Thank you! Warning noted. I have some kratom which I ordered a while ago but got concerned about mixing it with methadone so I have not used it yet. The breakthru symptoms happen in the morning, which would be a much better time to try it....I would be wide awake in case there was an issue. Or perha...
