Re: Mirapex and requip

Just a quick question, how does stopping help the low blood pressure as you understand it? My doctor told us that the only way to help increase my wifes low bp was to give her salt. She has the same problem you do her bp dropped to 36 one day and she was unable to be awakened. Also, just a note abo...

Re: Mirapex and requip

I'm sure you realize that the water pill contributes to dropping your blood pressure. I still think you should stop all salt, even if it's only for a week. That would help. Doc's just won't write that stuff (diuretics) over the phone. It's just too dangerous. Then opioids will drop your heart functi...

Re: Venting!

Thanks everyone. I guess what really bothers me the most is that I have always been very active. I'm not the type to sit and watch TV. Now even when the TV is on, I'm usually sewing. I have two more quilts to make. After that who knows. I want to do more painting. The weather has finally broke here....

Re: Venting!

I am also so sick of this. I am sick of being so tired all of the time. I am sick of dragging around. It's all I can do to walk across the room, much less going out to get somewhere. I am so exhausted all of the time with no energy. It seems like that it's getting worse, even though I am getting a l...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Itching is a very real side affect. I itch like crazy with Morphine and the derivatives.

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

I thought my low energy was due to lack of sleep. I just have no energy to do anything. It's all I can do to walk across a room, much less go further than that. Also my nose runs a lot. I thought maybe that was because of my CPAP which goes into my nose.

Re: Finally, no more pramipexole !!!!

I also live in small town America. 600 people. We are lucky to have a doctor here. If the one here wasn't receptive I would have traveled to another town. The other towns are 60 to 129 miles away. There are 4 that are 60 miles away. The one that is 129 mile away is where I will be going to get my hi...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

You've listed most already. I've had weight gain (60 - 100, I go up and down), memory loss (lost job), being over emotional, compulsive behavior and swelling.

Re: Finally, no more pramipexole !!!!

I would stop seeing the neuro doc and tell other docs that the one is no longer my doc if they ask. But that's also a good idea regarding the cardiologist.

Re: How do you feel about taking Opioids for RLS?

I agree. At first when I started taking it two years ago I suffered extreem nausea. But then it went away after I reduced the dose. Then I was able to increase it later. No problem now.

Re: I guess that I will give up !

I spoke too soon. Last night I ended up adding back a 1/2 tab of methadone. It is still less than I was taking, which was 2 tabs. So now it's one tab cut in half. My leg started, which is the first time in a long time. Also have lost 12 pounds. Onward and upward or I should say downward. Only about ...

Re: I guess that I will give up !

I was able to cut back on the Methadone. So now I'm taking one Mirapex 0.125 mg and cutting in have one Methadone 5 mg. I had smyptoms when I went to just one 1/2 tab of Methadone. Knowing how this all works I know I will end up adding back meds, but now I have the room to do so. I did seem to have ...

Re: Finally, no more pramipexole !!!!

Remember, if you are augmenting with the Mirapex it won't help to just reduce the dose and start an opioid if it's bad. I went through that. Reducing it didn't help. I had to stop it. I don't remember if you stopped the senemet. It will be contributing to the augmentaion. I think what you are taking...

Re: Anybody know anything about brain leisions and Cancer

I'm so sorry for all of you and him. I think they have written him off. Sometimes they just don't tell you that. I've seen that before, when they say it's time to go home. It's because there is no more insurance and/or they don't know what to do. I'm hoping he had a neuro specialist. I'm sorry, but ...
