Re: Clonazepam and Doctors
Thank you. I certainly hope so. I have one thing to add: last night I awakened in a sweat and felt shaky so took 1 mg of my Clonazepam and slept well until morning. Today I have energy and feel “normal “ again. My own attempt to taper did not work. I am reminded of a previous post about a member’s ...

Re: Quality Care Centers
I am really looking for a plan, not a prescription I can't get filled. Or give IV iron a try. I'd stay somewhere for a week or whatever to give it a try. At 65 I'm very worried about what this will be like when I'm 80. My neurologist will prescribe anything he is allowed to in Florida. I saw a seco...

Re: Quality Care Centers
Are plane trips something you can do? I flew to California for years before I moved here. When I was walking to Dr Winkleman (he does the opioid study) a few weeks ago, I said I didn't know what I'd do if Dr B retired. He said I could always see him. BUT, no idea if they will take out of state clien...

I am so over these doctors. They have no idea how many lives are lain to waste with such proclamations. I hope the nurse is more helpful.

Re: Fentanyl patches for RLS
One comment noted methadone at 200mg. I am suspicious. Recommended max dose for methadone is 40mg. Most patients are at 10mg. You also mentioned building resistance to opioids. Methadone does not trigger the chemical thing that builds resistance. Once a maintenance dose is determined it never needs...

Re: going "cold turkey"
I'm back. It's been a while but II have need of some advice. As part of my follow-up of my sleeve gastrectomy (2 years post op on10/14/21, lost 100 pounds) my provider always orders a boatload of lab tests. 2 of the tests that were abnormal were the pTH and iron. The iron is the one I really have q...

Re: Dilaudid + Lyrica combo
Hi Comeau01. Some people have more of an issue with tolerance than other people. I am one. When mine starts getting worse, it isn't the same each night. Tonight, for example, the symptoms are nasty at 2 AM and I am up and not able to sleep at all. Last night I slept relatively well, with some mild s...

Isn't this the truth! It's also the willingness to GET the expertise and LISTEN to the experts (including the patient). Doctors that have a holier than thou attitude? I just walk away.

One of our board members uses a TENS to keep her WED/RLS at bay. At first she had to use it nightly, but gradually used it less and less, til it was only now and then. I think she's an exception; most of us have had mixed results or no help from a TENS. But it's certainly worth a try. You should fi...

Re: Venofer (Iron Sucrose)
After my 8th session, I tried weaning from .375 mirapex to .25 but was not successful. I’m going to retry 4-6 weeks after my last session. They say it should work by 8 weeks AFTER it's all in. But I found it takes longer for me. I thought it didn't work when I had one of my first ones. At 6 or 7 we...

It doesn't help the movement symptoms, unfortunately. It can help with sleep. Some of us can tolerate it, some of us cannot.
