I am so pleased that things have turned around for you. You know, we get so frustrated with doctors who do not understand us and do not help the way we need them to help and we can forget that they are human, too. I think the fact that this doctor was willing to apologize and admit his own humanity ...

I didn't know that, Randy. Thanks. I do not take Lunesta and Ambien at the same time. I'll go until I feel like I can't handle another night without sleep, then I'll call my doctor and ask for either Lunesta or Ambien. She will prescribe me a month with no refills. I'm afraid to call as soon as the ...

Thanks for asking, Randy. I'm still struggling a bit. My Ultram came in, so I'm not having that problem, but I ran out of Ambien, so I'm not sleeping well at night. The problem is that with both Ambien CR and Lunesta, I require more than the prescribed dose to sleep, so I only get half as much sleep...

I was denied health insurance because of the RLS, PLMD and, strangely enough, high cholesterol. The thing is, in some states, there is a high risk insurance option offered through the state. Insurance companies have to pay into it to be able to deny people they consider high risk. I thought it was v...

Welcome, Kyle. Unfortunately, there are a minority of us who have RLS at an early age. I have had it since I was a young child and I still struggle even though I am only 28. The good news is that many, many people find treatment that works for them. I would encourage you to find a doctor that is kno...

Zach, Just wanted to remind you that this is a safe place to talk - addiction issues included. I have often felt that I could easily get to that place. I'm just not crafty enough to have gotten there yet. I have often taken more than perscribed in order to get the relief I felt like I needed. Your c...

Thank you for taking the time to write about this condition that affects so many. I second Ann's suggestion to look at some of the stories here. Hopefully they will give you a good picture of the hell that some RLs patients experience. Good luck!

I am so sorry that you are struggling. I have had periods of 48 hours awake and they're enough to make you want to check yourself into the loony bin. I hope that you are able to find some relief. You are not alone. I have taken Lunesta and Ambien at fairly high doses to get some relief. You might co...

My body is so messed up!

I ran out of Ultram, which I take at between 200 and 400 mg daily, and decided to wait on receiving it in the mail because according to the online pharmacy I would only need to miss one day. Last night was my one night to miss and from the moment I opened my bleary eyes this morning, I felt like I w...

I find the bed phobia the worst directly after running out of a sleep med that your doctor gave you for a brief reprieve. For some reason, my doctor refuses to prescribe me long term sleeping pills such as Lunesta. She will give me a month at a time of Ambien CR and then I have to wait several month...

I am so proud of you, Charlene! Your compassion and sincere heart will bring comfort to many, I'm sure, as it already has. I know that you are dealing with your own issues right now, so the fact that you are starting a support group in the middle of all of this just amazes me. You fall into the cate...

Dear lightening, I absolutely experience the buzzing in my legs. In fact, as a little girl, I would describe the feeling to my parents as "electricity in my feet." It's enough to drive you nuts. Have you seen a doctor about RLS? It sounds like you have intermittent RLS. RLS is known to be exacerbate...
