Thanks for the tidbit! I really would like it if I could get by only a few days a week, but I have a feeling that once I know what NO RLS feels like I will want it all the time! Oh, to just "imagine" what that may be like! I think I have had RLS SO long, that I don't know what feeling &quo...

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was looking for. I thought maybe I shouldn't have stopped it for a few days and then taken it again. I am one that has a hard time taking it 2 hours before symptoms start as it is there first thing in the morning. I would like a medication that would curb the sym...

Mirapex question

Have any of you missed a few days of your medication and then taken it? If so, what dose were you at and did you notice extra side effects? The reason I ask is because I didn't take a .5 mg dose for about 3-4 days, and then took .625 because the .5 wasn't helping and the dr. told me to increase it. ...

Thanks for the replies. One thing I should have mentioned is that I hadn't taken Mirapex for a couple days because I had been out of town and ran out. But, I had gotten no relief in the .5 dose (which I suppose I was on for 5-7 days), so I figured it didn't pay to take that dose again. Maybe I was w...

BAD Mirapex day~

So, I take the Mirapex at about 5:30 this morning. I start work at 6:30. I increased my dose (per dr.) from .5 to .625. About 2 hours later--BAM! I am SOOOOOO tired, I didn't think I was going to be able to stay awake. Then about the same time, my legs started hurting really bad. Kind of a constant ...

Thanks for the replies. To clarify for you, Hos....what I mean by the "sleep thing" is that I obviously have sleep issues, and have 50 "arousals" per hour. According to the sleep study, none were caused by movement, but 25% were caused by breathing problems. What the other 75% is...

Anyone's sleep NOT bothered by RLS?

I am just asking because it doesn't seem to affect me--according to the sleep study, anyway. It mostly bothers me when I am sitting at my desk--or anywhere for that matter. The reason I ask is that I am wondering if it would make sense for me to only take medication (IF it ever actually works) only ...

Anaphylactic is the most serious. I'm sure the risk is low, but where I go, they are VERY risk conscious, which is a good thing, I guess. I don't have that low of ferritin, so I figured I would give it my best for 3 months and then if it continues to be "low normal", I may inquire again. I...

Mirapex cost tip~

You guys are way more experienced than I am, so perhaps most of you already know this, but when I picked up my prescription for Mirapex, it was a cost share of 30% because there is no generic. Well, I asked and at the pharmacy I filled at, .125mg tablets and .25mg cost the same. So, I had my prescri...

Sleep Study Completed/iron infusions

I completed the sleep study and it was pretty uneventful. I found I do not have PLMD, which is good, but did have 50 "arousals' an hour. I didn't feel like I slept much, and I didn't get much "deep" sleep at all. Out of the 50 "arousals", 25% were caused by breathing problem...

Thanks for all the replies/info. I will start over with my post. I was almost done and hit a wrong key--not sure what and it took me back a page--darn VISTA!! Anway, I was saying that I have been taking Mirapex for 2 weeks and started at .125/day supposed to take it 2 hours before symptom onset. Whe...

Ooops! I am taking .5 mg of Mirapex, not .25 like I posted. Guess all the blood is in my legs not in my brain! This is pretty good that I am the only one that has responded to my post!

I should have also mentioned.....

That I had a ferritin level of 42. I know that is in the "normal" range, but the dr. said that it is low for RLS standards, they want it above 50. So, I am also on iron supplements--3 a day, but can only tolerate 1 or 2. Could my lower ferritin cause my symptoms to be all day? Any one with...

New here--how many have symptoms right away in the morning?

I was just diagnosed with RLS. I have had so much trouble sleeping for a long time and talked to my dr. at my recent appointment. I have moved and bounced my legs for a very long time. Only recently after a couple people asked if I had RLS did I look into it and sure enough if I HOLD my legs still t...
