Re: Feldenkrais
Should that be 'delusion' will continue? I really am under no illusions (about elusion (!)) - my main reason for trying it is to correct an outward turning right foot which is becoming more pronounced. I always mention my rls when getting any form of non-medical treatment, partly because I sort of e...

Re: My new Relaxis
Yes, I'm not sure how we will proceed if the pad turns out to be very effective. Opiates drove me back into the marital bed (see previous post 'How hard drugs saved my marriage' or some such) and now Relaxis is driving us apart ... It would be a easier, frankly, if Relaxis doesn't work and a consola...

Re: Just found something that works for me
Tbascokat, I find that lying on my front provides relief but haven't tried the tickling thing. We are all so different but perhaps it is a sort of counter-stimulation effect? If your boyfriend becomes very reluctant you could always try investigating the effectiveness of PB's proposition - at risk o...

Re: Just found something that works for me
What are you like, PB? This sounds more comforting than carnal. If the relief was sexual (which I admit can be pronounced albeit extremely temporary - at least in my case - insert imaginary scarlet emoji as I ludite and can't get real one in), the boyfriend would not be dismayed at the prospect of r...

Re: Anyone tie a towel or rope onto their legs?
Yes but 39.3% !!! That is an intriguingly specific figure. I am particularly curious about the .3% - did they just use ropes and not pullies? Or maybe their cloth/rope was .7% looser than the others favouring this method of treatment ... or their elastic was just not quite so tight ...

Feldenkrais
Has anybody tried this? It was recommended to me by a physiotherapist. It is also known as Awareness Through Movement. I had my first session last week and another one tomorrow. It was very interesting and enjoyable. The premise is that using gentle manipulation of the body, the brain is retrained t...

My new Relaxis
It arrived the day before yesterday along with a demand for a horrendous amount of import duty which added quite substantially to the already significant cost. I became even more keen for it to be a success! I followed my usual bedtime routine and took my usual medications (75mg Lyrica, 5mg OxyConti...

Re: Infusion Update
Yes; I think curiosity is a strong motivating factor for me too. I really want to go up every alleyway and see where it leads. In my head my rls seems something like a fully formed foe - it looks a bit like the Balrog in the Lord of the Rings film (as in 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS') and my body (temple) is...

Re: Infusion Update
I asked about your motivation for stopping meds because it is something I seem driven to strive towards also - for much the same reasons. My symptoms are not as severe as yours which helps of course. It is a really nice feeling even to reduce meds. I applaud you for your constant experimentation. I ...

Re: Ropinerole withdrawal, oxycodone, & LDN
Is there any reason why you didn't go back to it, Yawny? You make it sound like it might be worth a go. My body is a temple into which I am currently introducing a packed congregation of medications. I am just hoping that they don't start disagreeing with each other. I do not have the equivalent of ...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?
It is really awful to suffer from severe RLS such as yours. Relaxis can be very helpful BUT you should focus initially on cutting down on mirapexin and ultimately discontinuing it. Relaxis is unlikely to help much with your symptoms while you are augmented on Mirapexin, if at all, and particularly w...

Wow; that's exciting. It is starting to look like a genuine improvement. Are you thinking that stopping it all would enable you to form a clearer picture of your base line? ... or ... ?

Re: Ropinerole withdrawal, oxycodone, & LDN
Yes; it did occur to me that such energy as I manage to muster is probably founded on cortisol and I could be reduced to an inert torpor without it. My relaxis pad has arrived (!!!). I will gloss over the devastating amount of import duty I unexpectedly had to pay. Now I have to find an overlapping ...

Re: 5 years with RLS and now pregnant
I totally understood what you were saying and why - I wholeheartedly share your anger at a medic who would offer nothing more than 'suck it up' as though that was in any way the whole picture. I'm sure so did Kluck. There was no intention to correct you. I well remember how readily I latched on to a...
