Dear Guest, I can't speak for Randy, but I think most of us here have relatively thick skin (except when we haven't slept for awhile and then we can be a little emotional ), so for me (who's been sleeping as good as appears possible) no offense taken. It is a huge balance we have to achieve and that...

You almost HAVE to laugh - Oh, is there a problem with a low ferritin level when you have RLS??? Although a completely different disease, my DH has a similar situation with our GP. Keep in mind that I really like this women. His last blood test showed borderline diabetes, so they were discussing die...

Hi Jamie, Glad you are close to the end, I can only imagine how stressful this pregnancy has been. Peripheral neuropathy is one of the diseases that is commonly mistaken for RLS. This would most likely if you had diabetes. I know there are a few others that can be mistaken for RLS, too, but not sure...

Thanks for posting that. It sounds like you've been through quite a bit, and to have RLS on top of it. Sometimes things just don't seem fair. Glad you got the disability; you deserved it.

Sodagirl, most of us have problems when flying. Not sure why, but lots of theories. If you want, you can search on it and find the posts where it has been discussed. We usually do things like fly early rather than late, get an aisle seat, and take extra meds with us just for the flight. Tweety, best...

That sounds like a very difficult situation. You may already know that the SSRIs and similar drugs often cause RLS or worsen RLS. That may be why you needed that much Requip, which many people here have said can cause headaches at higher doses. Have you tried Mirapex? You can take much less of it th...

Hi Twitch, so sorry no one responded more quickly. I think it may be because we really aren't sure of the answer! Technically, jerks in your sleep are called PLMD, periodic limb movement disorder. RLS happens while awake and is relieved by movement. The convulsions you are feeling when falling aslee...

All of the links that were in here have been moved to the New to RLS sticky, so this thread isn't needed anymore. I'll leave it here unless people think I should delete it. It doesn't need to be bumped anymore, though.

George, I think it is lost in cyberspace. The number by your name indicates the number of posts, and you only have one listed, which is this one above. How frustrating! When you preview, stay on the same page to submit. The actual post is below the preview. You can review it, then scroll down to the...

Chronic Pain - new research

I just saw this news about chronic pain. Obviously we can't do anything with this yet, but I think this is a large leap for the researchers. It may mean that new and more effective strategies to manage pain will be forthcoming. m WEDNESDAY, Jan. 25 (HealthDay News) -- In a finding that could alter p...

I had some information related to opioid use, so thought I'd put it in here with other posts about them. I know several others on here take narcotics, as I do. One of the main side effects for me has been constipation. For awhile, I was also taking iron, but eventally couldn't do both - my innards h...

In the RLS/PLMD Yahoo forum, a woman is looking for someone in the Washinton DC area to participate in case study regarding RLS and massage. If anyone lives in the area, this could be a great opportunity to get 8 or so weeks of free massage and possibly really help the RLS. It is on this forum: m Yo...

Dmac, it sure sounds like augmentation to me, but I see augmentation everywhere . Truly, it does sound like it. Sinemet is not considered to be the best drug for daily use anymore - because of augmentation. There are several threads about it around that may help. The current theory is that if you ge...
