Gabapentin is the generic name for Neurontin. At the top of the page when you are on the Discussion Board part of the site you will see a place where you can search. Do a search for Gabapentin and another one for Neurontin. I take Gabapentin primarily for PLMS. It has worked well for me in conjuncti...

Jamie, I am so sorry that you are suffering so. I am glad that you are taking the time to browse through the board. You are not alone. The thing about Requip is, if it is going to work, you have to get to the right dose. So, if it's not working, you will want to continue to slowly increase (follow y...

I am so sorry that you are suffering so. In addition to the advice already mentioned, you might look around the site a little bit and pull out a couple of posts from people who are in the midst of a really terrible episode. Sometimes hearing what it's like first-hand can help people empathize and yo...

I tend to agree with Lynne. The biggest clue to me is the Mirapex. I think if you had RLS, the symptoms would either get better or worse with the Mirapex. The muscle tone issue definitely sounds like MS. But, just so that you get clear direction from the experts, here is a quote from the "What is RL...

If liability is the big issue, why would a paper with the message "I realize I could become addicted to this and die and I won't hold the doctor, insurance, anyone in the world ever, accountable" suffice? To me, that seems like a win-win situation. Then if someone decides to sue, folks are still cov...

Lynnie, I was coming to this thread to mention something that you said exactly. The thing I find is after enough nights of no sleep, enough medication screw ups, enough loneliness and feeling like you might lose your mind completely - you become less like yourself. I just can't imagine you living in...

I have often said that realizing that you are not crazy can be one of the best feelings in the world. Now some relief from RLS symptoms and a good night's sleep exceed that, but it's still pretty great. Welcome to our board and please feel free to ask questions, join in discussions, rant, rave or wh...

You know, the worst part about RLS is the loneliness. The best is you guys. With my work (I am a minister), I often see the worst that humanity has to offer. With this board, I see the best. People who are hundreds (or thousands) of miles apart offering phone numbers, flying to be with one another i...

Gail, Please know that our support of you is not temporary. We will walk with you as you struggle through this unbelievably difficult time. What a huge burden to be the sole support for a husband with this diagnosis! I hope the time comes soon when he feels comfortable telling at least one or two ot...

Many of us who have been on Requip have struggled with side effects. One of the indications on the Mayo Clinic Algorithm (can be found in the New to RLS section of this board) for moving to a different drug or different class of drug is intolerable side effects. You do not have to endure nausea, vom...
