Hey Kristi, So sorry for you. I enough with the rls/plmd that the fibro would put me over the edge. However I would have to say the most experience doctor for your fibro would be a rheumtologist. They rls your going to need a neuro or a sleep specialist. But if you see the rheumy first and he/she ca...

Good luck to you foggy there are medications that will help your wife if she is interested in it. I unlike Ann have both rls and plmd and so far the meds have not been any help for me. I'm just about ready to scream.

It's interesting to me when ppl say they got sleep. I often wonder if they really got sleep or if their eyes were shut. Cuz with me I don't get any sleep to speak of. Reason why is because I jerk every 6 mins = 10.5/hr. For every jerk I have my brain wakes up so therefore even though my eyes are clo...

There are several ppl that have only night time rls. As a matter of fact its uncommon to have it during the day. Only a few of us have that problem. But most rls'ers experience symptoms just before bed or during bed while sleeping or both. So your wife has a very common form of rls. I myself have is...

would mean that you have symptoms so bad they interferre with the way you perform in your job and everyday living. If you can not get adequate sleep then your mind is not there for you to perform everyday duties. Especially when it comes to driving not enough sleep could cause one of us with rls/plm...

My husband can not do anything really for me. So the best thing for us is for one of us to get good sleep so he sleeps in the spare room. I am the one with the rls/plmd and if he sleeps with me he is also up all night. But other than that theres not a lot he can do. You could try to massage her legs...

That would work great if you had mild rls but i have 10.5 movements /hr during sleep and who knows how many when awake so counting or thinking of something else has no effect on me. I have already tried to do this but cant keep my mind off the pain and electrical sensation i have when my legs take a...

Kjeanlynn, The overall consensus is that the soap idea IS NOT helpful. It is possible that the pressure of the bar of soap in the bed, helps to distract one from the rls sensations. Sometimes keeping the mind focused on something else helps with reducing rls sensations. For some non pharmaceutical ...

But if you can get to rem sleep and you feel rested maybe you might want to keep taking it and hopefully it will work its way out. But...
