Re: How do you hold down a job?

Please cut yourself some slack. It is clear from your post that you would work if you possibly could. I too wonder constantly how people with rls manage a normal working life. My decisions regarding my career are blighted by it. I thoroughly agree with Steve, you need - and deserve - extra help at t...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, I tried to phrase my post to take account of the chance that symptoms will not recover to the extent one might hope for. A majority of people seem to revert to night time only symptoms once a d/a is discontinued. However there is presumably a less good prognosis if you had 24/7 before ever em...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, I haven't been on here in a while and just read back through your recent posts. I can't believe how well you've done - what a fantastic reduction. I see your struggles with deciding which doses to reduce and also notice you saying that you have stayed a long time on 1.25mg. However it has onl...

Re: What kind of Oral Iron?

In relation to oral iron, I have tried various supplements but never managed to get my serum ferritin to 100. In the last few months I started eating liver every second day. At first it was a process of attrition but I am getting used to it now and have a nice recipe. Chicken liver is the least unpa...

Re: CBD oil

It did nothing for my rls and was VERY expensive. I think it might have helped slightly with anxiety but not enough (if at all) to justify the cost. I have read of people who got almost full relief with it however so it's probably worth trying.

Re: Started gabapenten - no relief

In relation to op's original point, I understand that gabapentin can take several weeks to take effect so it might be worth sticking with it for a while though the restless arms thing sounds pretty miserable. In relation to leggo's taper - I had the same experience. If I went fast when coming off pr...

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?

There was an interesting post by someone about two or three years ago (I temporarily forget his username - 'aipulo' or something like that) who was prescribed naltrexone - full dose, from memory it was 25mg - to assist with weight loss. I think the idea was that it would reduce the pleasure he deriv...

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

Well, I was surprised to feel more normal with the dipyridamole, I really didn't realize how "not normal" I felt before the dipyridamole. I guess the not normal feelings crept into how I felt slowly over years, so I didn't realize that my "not normal" feelings were more than just chronic tiredness ...

Re: Yoga Helping me so far

For me anything stretching the hamstrings seems to have an immediate negative impact but over a longer period (the ensuing 60 minutes or so) it seems to be beneficial. Side bends are definitely soothing to my rls.

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

Yes; that’s it exactly and it is amazing. I’ve almost forgotten what the creepy crawleys feel like. Rls is a LOT more bearable but (never one to by-pass an opportunity to moan) does still keep me awake all night if I don’t treat it - and sometimes even when I do.

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

Yes, with his encouragement, I too added back in a tiny dose of pramipexole. I now only require the pramipexole to manage my rls - as I say, I discontinued the dipyridamole a while ago. I take breaks from the pramipexole from time to time in hope of deferring augmentation. I use Kratom when on a bre...

Re: New Kratom User - when to take

Just in relation to your original question, I would start with half teaspoon of Kratom dissolved in grapefruit juice. If that is not effective within about an hour you could try taking an additional half teaspoon. For me, it requires about one and a half teaspoons to address my symptoms effectively ...

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

I tried dipyridamole. I have augmented and withdrew from a high dose of pramipexole about two years prior to commencing dipyridamole. I didn’t notice dipyridamole causing any worsening of my symptoms but Holland did report a temporary worsening about 30 minutes after taking the dipyridamole. From me...

Re: Cannabis

From research on the Internet (so it must be true), the properties of cannabis can vary significantly depending on when it is harvested. The trichomes (tiny little protrusions growing out of bud and leaf which give the plant it’s frosty appearance) turn from clear to milky and then to amber as the p...
