Meds for movements
Hi. I cannot speak to methadone as I have not used it. Just based on my general experience with meds, I encourage you when adding meds to first discern if a current med is allowing breakthough PLMD symptoms OR causing augmentation. I suffered for years on Mirapex thinking what was happening was a pr...

PLMD
I have an online friend on another forum that says she has periodic limb movements but they are not called a disorder because they don't disturb her sleep much. She says hers involve mostly just her big toe, and were observed on a sleep study.

Breakthrough
Polar Bear, was there any mention of limb movements in a sleep study? Of course the absence of them in one night's observation doesn't mean they aren't present at other times. PLMD is visually different from moving due to RLS in that the movements are rhythmic and stereotypical. Usual movements can ...

Breakthrough
I know how disheartening it can be when things seem to be on an even keel then suddenly trouble rears its ugly head. Do you have these isolated periods from time to time, or do you think think this is signaling a problem with your meds? Sure hope it is very temporary. do you have PLMD too or is that...

Meds and augmentation
My experience is with both RLS and PLMD. I have used Sinemet, Neurontin, Mirapex and Requip, and am currently on NO medications for the RLS/PLMD. I have been using a TENS Unit since before Thanksgiving, and my legs are the best they've been in many years. Augmentation was just horrid for me (if you'...

New Doctor & Prescriptions
Hi Zach. I'm new around here so I don't know your story, but I do understand how having a doctor you are at odds with is a very uncomfortable place to be. It's a big decision whether to try to continue working with a doctor or go through the ordeal of finding a new one. Maybe you won't have to go th...

Nausea with Mirapex
I had the nausea too. Not sure if it subsided or if I got used to being miserable. It wasn't till I was off the med that I realized how miserable I'd been, and had just accepted it as my new norm. However, I was on a much higher dose. Just from lots of reading about Mirapex it seems some with nausea...

Searching for relief
Hi. I am new to this site too but not to RLS. I've spent most of my years focusing on my PLMD as it was causing me more grief than the RLS, so I'm just now really delving into the RLS. Because I have back issues, I've been wondering if mine is a result of nerve damage rather than originating in the ...

For your amusement
Had a chuckle at my own expense today, thought someone else might need a chuckle too... Picked granddaughter Tilee up from school. As usual, Tilee waited for me to come around and open her door. ME: Tilee! TILEE: Silence. ME: Tilee! TILEE: Where are you Grandma? ME: Tilee!! Come here!! TILEE: Where ...
