Em, it sounds like he really is staying on top of this. How frustrating for you to have to consider things you may not want or may have unwanted side effects. Just curious; has anyone taken your ferritin levels yet? Would you be a candidate for the iron infusion therapy at Johns Hopkins? I've never ...

Charlene, you could REALLY take a big step and become a support group leader, like Jan and Lynne and Barbara. They do SOOOO much good on a community level - working with docs, educating docs and sufferers, bringing hope and help to many.

What a wonderful thing to do. Charlene, maybe you can join "for" a doctor in your area - maybe your primary care. . .the newsletters would then be sent to him or her. He or she might get a little RLS education that way.

We've had some new people on lately - if you have been on any drugs, we'd love to know the side effects you experienced. This might really help others.

Oh, Em. I wish I had something positive to say. Maybe you are a good candidate for that long-acting DA (talk about missing cognitive function!) that isn't cheap here in the US. It's supposed to work much better for those who have augmentation. It lasts like 36 hours or something. Oh, yeah, Cabergoli...

Brandy, you've been on the Mirapex a short time, yes? I would think you should be able to stop it pretty quickly if you want to test to see if that is what is the problem. How much are you taking? You could also write Dr B again and ask what he suggests. You've been so strong through this and got th...

I, for one, am intensely interested in the results - immediately, short and long term. So, thanks for keeping us posted. Thanks, also for the info on Lyrica.

There is a thread somewhere about effects of meds. If I find it and bump it up, would you be willing to post about the xyrem in it?

The RLS experts have noted (and so have many of us) that RLS is "susceptible" to our thoughts. For example, when we are engaged deeply in something (ie the RLS Rebels ideas), we often forget our RLS. Often, when we first start taking something or doing it differently, the RLS also seems to stop (ie ...

Good advice Charlene. Asking a doc would be the best bet. If Josh is around, he might know, though. I guess you could probably to a search on the Internet, too. there must be some site that lists the drugs/supplements that are OK during pregnancy. Oh, maybe this site will help. it lists drug interac...

Welcome, Sandy. Glad you are finding the forum helpful. It sure is great to find someplace you feel like you finally belong, isn't it? Walkin, yikes! I wish I had some advice - not much you can do except try the stuff from the RLS Rebel. I highly recommend her book, but her website is full if great ...

Re: Flipping like a fish

I have had RLS for about 3 years. My Internal Medicine MD is sending me to a Psychiatrist to put me on a better acting Antidepressant. I am trying to read all your information. Can you advise a direction? Do I need to see a Neurologist? My whole family has RLS and or the whole leg and arm movement ...

Hi Earline, There are people on the board with jerking - not sure if they all take Mirapex, but they all have RLS. Mirapex, I'm pretty sure, made me jerk more than I did before. I had lots of weird jerks in my arms, my hands, my legs - I never had them before Mirapex. Now that I am off of it, I stil...
