I was not anemic, but my ferritin level was at the extreme low end of the normal range so my doc put me on 50mg, 3 times per day (" 50 mg from 160 mg of dried ferrous sulfate"). Every once in awhile I get tingling and goosebumps just on one leg. It seems to coincide with overall reduced RLS symptoms for a very short time. It's pretty strange.
