Hi Susan, I think gabapentin did a number on my brain, but then I'm super sensitive to meds. It was great for the first few months. It helped me sleep and I was more alert during the day. After that it began to make me super tired and out-of-it during the day. Then I developed severe confusion and m...

Hi Mark,

This is frightening! I would drive a long way to get away from these doctors!

Hi Mitsuyo, My RLS is primary. I was not anemic, but my ferritin level was at the extreme low end of the normal range so my doc put me on 50mg, 3 times per day (" 50 mg from 160 mg of dried ferrous sulfate"). She said for someone with RLS the ferritin level should be 70 to 100. Even at 3/day, it tak...

Every once in awhile I get tingling and goosebumps just on one leg. It seems to coincide with overall reduced RLS symptoms for a very short time. It's pretty strange.

Ah Charlene, I'm sending up prayers for you - and for hubby too. Maybe you just go ahead and eat something you crave - just enjoy every morsel. If you have repercussions from it, you won't want it again, but you'll be satisfied. Hopefully the thoughts and prayers of your fellow RLSers will lift your...

Ah Charlene, thank you for the kind post. We've been gone a lot the last month, but when I'm home I read nearly every post, hoping to always learn more about this RLS. I don't often have anything to add to the great information and support you all bring, but this "sore spot" thing caught my eye. Fin...

Hi Fred; welcome to the board. I have sore spots too. Where they are depends on the face of RLS I’m experiencing at the time. I have aching, buzzing, electric snakes or an overall charge everywhere. I only have one of these symptoms at a time, but when I get that overall charge it’s 24/7. Triazolam ...

I haven't tried acupuncture, but I use acupressure all the time. I can always get relief, sometimes lasting the rest of the night, sometimes for a few hours, depending on how bad my RLS is. In fact every night when the RLS wakes me up, I sit up in bed and do acupressure on my feet, my legs calm and ...

Hi Juska, I'm so sorry you've got this. It's a horrid disease. Try asking your doc if he/she can find you a neurologist who has a special interest in RLS. Mine did that for me. Previously I'd gone to a top neurologist in the region, but she was concerned about my brain function at the time and even ...

Oh Lynne, you're a sweetie. I appreciate all your hints, and will use them all. Hubby and I want so much to travel and we're very excited about this trip. I'm just going to have to get a grip and deal with this RLS business on the plane. I guess I was venting here because I know you all understand. ...

Hm - wish I'd caught the post about EKBOM's Syndrome. I just talked to United and there will be no bulkhead seats for me. And absolutely no exit aisle seats. The United supervisor said the only bulkhead seats left were for people who couldn't walk. It didn't seem to matter that I had the prescriptio...

Hi Zack, Every doc I've gone to has asked me about sleep apnea. Although I do snore some , hubby insists I don't stop breathing. This episode of not breathing specifically related to the vicoden. I only took it once - it was kind of scary. I'm super sensitive to meds. It makes doing something for th...

I hear you! I've got 13 hours (one way) of flying coming up in a week. I'm pretty concerned about it - not wanting to end up lying on the floor in the galley. I'm trying to get a doctor's prescription so that I can sit in a bulkhead seat. When I asked the ticket agent for one and told her I had RLS,...

Hi Babytoes, Yours is definitely a different perspective on RLS than everyone else on this board. While all of us experience the panic of not being able to make the electricity stop, I can definitely understand where you’re coming from – only because of my daughter’s struggles. My daughter had hallu...
