Re: Disability

I just want to make a point about quiting jobs or going part time because of illness. Check to see if there are any company or state provided disability benefits available to you. I used to work for a disability insurance company. Therefore, I was blessed to be able to have this insurance available...

Thank you Everyone!!

Congratulations Kimberly, You give me hope, because my case is based on pretty much the same illnesses. How long did you have to wait for a hearing? Linda Linda...my application date was December 2003. I was given the standard two denials and then in July of 2005 my case was finally assigned to a A...

Tics/Jerks

Over the course of many years, my RLS began to be accompanied by sudden jerking....I have always described my RLS as the build up to a sneeze, and the jerking movement the 'kachoo'. I was told that this is PLMD. Usually, PLMD occurrs at night, however, my PLMD is so severe that the jerking prevents ...

SSD HAD BEEN AWARDED!

In a rare move, the judge in my SSD case made a 'bench' decision during my hearing, so instead of making me wait several months to know his answer, he made the decsion, in court, to rule in my favor!! Though my application covered RLS/PLMD, Fibromyalgia and Depression, a great deal of emphasis was p...

Hi Views....I voted for surgery, because I am certain that the onset of my RLS was due to anesthesia for appendectomy. However, my second choice would have been antidepressants...and I think I've tried all....greatly exacerbate RLS/PLMD movement...so major/chronic depression has gone untreated for y...

Re: Graveyard shift and RLS

Question for those of you who work or have worked graveyard - I am considering taking a job that would either be 1pm to 1am or 7pm to 7am and am wondering how it will affect my RLS. Please share your experiences with me. Thanks I consulted with my physician about this because at one point I was con...

As a moderator, I want to emphasize that this is not the place for political discussions. I hope every member here remembers that many people use this board and we do not all feel the same about anything, including this. Informing us that this is an issue was great. Posting links is fine. Taking th...

thanks sugbrendas....it does certainly seem to be standard operating procedure for there to be a minimum of two denials. Frankly, they do this on purpose, and frankly, it works. Most people don't realize they are going to be automatically denied, and so they attempt to return to work, as I did. It w...

SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS...*Important*

Since being forced to retire from my career in 2003, I am currently at the end of a 3-plus year process of my claim for Social Security Disability benefits. I have also been dependent on Federal Benefits in the forms of what used to be called 'Welfare' for more than a year since depleating all of my...

Hi cornealia

Hi cornelia, Yes, I remember very well that you were trying to get disabililty in the netherlands. I believe we have talked before....I am just not here on a regular basis and it has been awhile. My SSDI Hearing

My name is Kimberly, I am from Ohio, and I have been a lurker/member of this site for at least several years. I am 49 and have, since it's onset at age 21, suffered from RLS/PLMD. The disorder progressed from a mild, occasional case of RLS, to such a severely debilatating 'primary' case of RLS/PLMD,...

PLMD

Does anyone else here have PLMD that is NOT just during sleep. Mine is so severe that the repetitive jerking, whether legs or arms or shoulder & upper body, that the uncontrolled jerking PREVENTS me from falling asleep? It's as if the exact minute my body knows that I am about to close my eyes, ...

Thanks so much for the feedback. I would like to know if the subject of Sleep "Hygene" was addressed and/or emphasized. I will ask additional questions re: this subject on another thread, but because it seems to be the new catch phrase among the physicians I have visited recently, I am wondering if ...

Re: FMLA and RLS?

Hello all. I have lurking on this site for a little while and decided to post this because I feel I need to do so now. I have been going kooky with this crazy thing for about 10 years now. I am 40 years young, but feeling a lot older as of late. It first started out as a minor nuisance. Within the ...

Hi ginaloo....I too have a problem with antihystamines and caffein. As for the 'O' problem, you might try searching, because I think I remember an entire thread dedicated to this topic. You're not the only one!
