Re: How long does it take for Lyrica to start working?

I take lyrica. I'd say probably around 30 minutes it really starts working.

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Anne, The hypnosis worked for a few weeks and then the RLS went out of control again. What it did help with most is me making my mind up to get the surgery unless my feet drastically improve. So here's a really strange thing I tried: A while back I read a book about mushrooms and the book displayed ...

Re: Changing my diet may have solved my RLS

Well that theory certainly does not work for me, BUT I suspect it's because the iron all at once impacts my digestion. What did work for a while was eating some type of liver or beef heart every day lunch and dinner. I slept like a baby for 8 hours a night and without any meds at all. It was like a ...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Thanks Ann! Sleep has been utterly horrendous! NONE of the meds are working and I'm having to triple and double triple them to get any decent sleep at all. Hence, I'm taking every other day off on the meds since I don't want to end up taking the whole bottle. I know this has to do with my fears abou...

Re: best iron suppliment to increase ferritin levels?

Another idea might be to take digestive enzymes with the high iron animal meats such as liver, coupled with taking the iron. I have done that before and have noticed a difference.

Re: best iron suppliment to increase ferritin levels?

I cannot take my iron all at once or it really activates the RLS something terrible and I think that has to do with the digestion is my best guess so I have to do the 3 x daily and space it out 5 hours. I like the bloodbuilder iron and have been using it for years. Don't take it at night or it might...

Re: How long does it take for Lyrica to start working?

Yes, I tripled the use of lyrica within a month. I try to find a variety of ways to deal with the RLS along with taking my meds. I also rotate my meds throughout the week. However, my understanding is that for some people nothing seems to work but the meds, so it all depends on how your RLS impacts ...

Re: Increasing Gabapentin dosage

600 is a rather low dose. I was told you could increase the dosage up to 1200. And yes, I've also experienced problems with tolerance and have to usually combine medications. I also exercise the best I can (have feet problems) and use a lot of mindfulness meditation which has been very effective wit...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Ann, So sorry it's taken so long to get back. Been struggling a bit with the password situation. Last month, I finally found a surgeon that I feel comfortable having the surgery with. he wanted me to try the physical therapy and I was surprised that it really helped. Still in a motorized scooter par...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Finally, I did talk to a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon today and he was able to answer my questions and calm my fears about what the other doctors said about the surgery. I still have 2 more ortho specialists I want to interview. So there is some hope re: the chronic pain. However, it may be a ...

Re: Changing my diet may have solved my RLS

I am on a paleo diet, but can eat dairy as that does not impact my WED at all. Since 2011, I've been on an immaculate diet and I'm proud to say, that some days I decide not to do raw vegetables, but most days I do them. My severe RLS got better with hypnosis, which I did for other things, but I woul...
