Horizant

Not really a new topic but I was wondering if anyone else has tried Horizant? I went to a new doctor (neurologist) about other symptoms but ended up looking at the medications I am on as the culprits--maybe. Anyway, first he started me on Horizant at 5:00 pm and my regular Mirapex at the normal time...

I have heard about the TENS unit before and if it works, then I would be interested in trying it. Someone told me that our local hospital has reconditioned ones for sale at a reduced cost. I think it might be worth a try anyway.

I would never knock anything that helps someone live with RLS, especially something as simple and harmless as this. I do appreciate all your work on this and for sharing it with us. "This reflex response is extremely sensitive, and is normally turned off by a population of so-far unidentified d...

I agree, a survey will probably just show us the problems we already know about. At the same time, it would be back-up for the board meeting just as Views said. Bottom line, I think the survey should be done now and after making changes, do another one. That would also let us see how many people jus...

Hmmm, I don't know but if so, it would have to come from the Foundation as moderator. What would you like the poll to ask?

I would like to ask permission from those who have posted on this thread to take the comments (not who they were from), print them out and take it to the board meeting in November. I will also lift some from facebook if possible. I want to show that it isn't just me, it's many people who think this ...

So happy that you found your family and know that you were a love child! We used to laugh about that title in the 70's but for you it rings true and is a good thing. Good times and bad follow like night and day but it sounds like the good is the winner this time! Hope you weren't hurt in the car wre...

Views, I like your idea for reviewing different areas. I think it might be good if each of us (or whomever wanted to help) looked at each of the areas you posted and give ideas on making it better. I might miss something on an area where I take too much for granted that someone else might pick up.

Sorry, posted that last before I realized we went to two pages! I think support should be our first priority. I realize we need education, research, donations, etc. but our first need is for support. The discussion board is a great start. Support group leaders and meetings are great in some areas an...

Views, let me know what you and the other moderators need to make this board more accessible. I try to steer people this way when they need more in-depth info and support than they get on facebook. If we put it out for a way to help, we have to maintain it and keep it usable. As for what I do? Belie...

Doety, I forgot to tell you. Yes, Pickett is still around and has been a major mentor to me. I also think that the board should be more public. Maybe not in what we do (some things cannot be made public right at the time) but in who we are. I have alwayse felt like the board was some secret club no ...

PLEASE don' t think I was abusing the moderators here--I KNOW what a great job they do. And it certainly is not their fault that the discussion board is so hard to get to. I think we can work on that to make it better. I have said for many years that we have great people out there who would gladly h...

I think that would be a great idea. As one person pointed out, when you are sleep deprived anyway, the slightest problem becomes overwhelming. If it doesn't come easy, they just may give up. The mission statement for the Foundation is to increase awareness, improve treatments, and through research, ...
