Re: certainly someone must have seen a neurologist

Rustsmith,
Regarding the possible missing post: I posted in the Non-prescription Medicines, Supplements, Diet area. Entitled: Visit To The Neurologist. It is still there and with 44 views. Could I be the only one who sees the content even though the post is accessible in the list?

Re: certainly someone must have seen a neurologist

Much appreciated. Thank you both. My ferritin was a bit low when tested last year. I started taking 65 mg of iron along with vitamin C on an empty stomach. Lately though it has been making me nauseous so I ceased taking it for awhile. I am aware that infusions could be the answer but that procedure ...

certainly someone must have seen a neurologist

Hi, I posted the following over a week ago but it received no replies. I am supposing I posted it in the wrong area. I am really interested if others have seen a neurologist and if their experiences were similar to mine. Can RLS have something to do with nerve damage in legs, for example. Have other...

Visit to the Neurologist

My primary care doctor referred me to a neurological clinic. It is a clinic of medical residents overseen by full-fledged doctors. They did a number of things to diagnose possible nerve damage in my legs. The most interesting thing was an instrument that looked like a tuning fork. When he touched it...

Re: new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

Eternityroad - I'm not sure I get i get much relief from Kratom. I take 2 teaspoons on top of my regular meds when it gets difficult. What dosage would you be taking. Stainless - I put two teaspoons of Kratom into a mug and top with some boiling water, give it a good stir and leave for a while. It ...

Re: new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

If you Donn't mind me asking, how do you ingest the Kratom? I tried it long ago and it was like choking down a tablespoon of ground up herb. I did it for a few weeks and did not feel any drop in RLS. No problem. I would be happy to answer. I mix the Kratom with Nestle sugar-free chocolate powder, a...

Re: new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

Steve, Wow! Those were a lot of hoops to jump through to end up as it did. I live in Las Vegas where there are no RLS specialists, according to my search of the Foundation site. So I was surprised to find a GP with her level of interest. My last GP wasn't interested in RLS but was good enough to und...

new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

My GP left last month and just had my first appointment with the new GP today. Very positive. Though she knew of RLS and also Kratom she hadn't known that RLS could be treated with opioids. She renewed my prescription for Lortab but at half the daily dose which works for me because I have been using...

Re: Is. Kratom safe?

Dr. Placebo, Don't give up hope. I suggest, if you haven't already, to sign up with the Restless Legs Foundation. Among their introductory materials is a booklet you can give your doctor if they don't know much about the disease. I have addressed my Kratom story in a reply to you under the thread Au...

Re: Augmentation or something else

Dr. Placebo, I am Ken who you replied to in another post. For many years I had been controlling my RLS with hydrocodone. Then I read about Kratom on this site in 2017. I purchased some locally from a smokeshop and gave it a try. Then I went on line and found places to get good deals. I weaned myself...

Re: Is. Kratom safe?

Dr. Placebo, I have just finished the Buchfurher book on RLS. It is out of date so no surprise it makes no mention of Kratom. One thing it did, however, was set me straight as to what exactly is augmentation. I use to think it was worsening of symptoms no matter. I have been using kratom for 5 years...

Re: If rls is caused by brain iron deficiency why do hot baths help?

Just saw this. I use hot moist towels, alternating on legs for total of five minutes. Immediate relief. But I only use the towels after I have taken Kratom or hydrocodone in instances where the effects of those meds do not kick in immediately. Wonderful success, but occasionally the compresses don't...

Re: Is. Kratom safe?

You mentioned thyroid med. I have been taking Kratom for five years. I also take a synthetic thyroid medication because my thyroid was deadened 30 years ago. (Grave's disease). The Kratom dosen't interfere with the thyroid meds. At least as far as I know. Haven't had any issues with it. Nor the othe...

Re: Kratom coming under fire

Don't know what instigated this move but here is the update I received yesterday from a vendor: UPDATE: We reached 50,000 signatures! But we need at least 100,000 to be heard. We have until August 30th (EXTENDED) to submit these comments, so we don’t need to panic, but we do need to act! Refer to or...

Kratom coming under fire

One of the vendors from whom I purchase Kratom sent me an email informing me of the possibility of Kratom being banned in the USA. Here is the body of the text. They encouraged comments to the FDA which has an open period for commenting that closes on August 9. I have also included a link to the for...
