Hi! Yes, it's very difficult to deal with both the chemo and the RLS. Fortunately, my last chemo is 12/7 and I can't wait until it's over with. I only hope and pray my cancer will not return. Sincerely, Carol Ann I remember my last treatment was also in Dec (1982). You'll be finished just in time f...

27 years ago (I was 18 at the time) I was treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I didn't suffer from neuropathy and/or RLS back then, but I don't recall the chemo causing any of RLS like symptoms. I can only imagine dealing with both at the same time now. According to my doctor, my neuropathy is a long...

Interesting about acid reducers as I take Zantac75 pretty much daily due to a slight acid reflux problem. My iron level was checked earlier this year and was around 85 or so. The acid reducers didn't seem to affect my iron. But does it really contribute to RLS? That never occurred to me. I know anti...

There are a slew of neurologists here as well, but none know anything about RLS. Maybe, but I've lost confidence in this guy and after 7 months, feel that I'm not making any progress. The neurontin worked for a while which was great, but he seems unwilling to move on to other meds I've asked about....

My appointment didn't happen. It wasn't cancelled though, here's the story. I showed up about an hour early for a 4pm appt., having been out and about doing other things and wound up being there early. Signed in and waited. They had a TV in the waiting room to pass the time. The time for my appointm...

Lately I'm finding doctors who used to call me all the time to discuss medications or whatever will not. I have to make an appointment to see them and pay for a visit in order to discuss the simplest thing. Dale Yep, I'm starting to feel that they're just about making money. My visit last week was ...

More home improvements. Had my old deck removed and a brand new one installed. Had the usual contractor issues (not showing up on time, taking longer than estimated, and weather problems). They finished yesterday by power-washing it down. Oooh. Looks new and shiny. Of course today it's raining, all ...

Tried the Cymbalta. Stopped after 3 days, because my symptoms intensified until I felt my whole body was vibrating, even during the day. I called the neuro on the third day, explaining my experience and saying I was discontuing it. I received a call from the nurse the next day saying it takes 3-4 we...

I agree that you were fortunate to get a returned call or email from the doctor at all, rather than their nurse/assistant. It is also somewhat suspicious that it suddenly stopped. I think you're correct in assuming she doesn't know what to do next. As others have said always go face to face if possi...

Yes. I am in very similar situation. I had chemotherapy treatments for non-Hodgkins lymphoma back in 1982. My neuro believes that my neuropathy is a long-term side effect of the chemo. I did some research and found that neuropathy is indeed a long-term side effect. Even if I had known back then, I s...

The good thing for me is that I don't need meds for sleep as long as I'm taking something that controls the RLS. I have no issues sleeping as long as my legs are under control. Subutex keeps them under control in EVERY way. I would just go out of my mind if they stopped allowing me to have it I rea...

The increased dose didn't help other than to make me more groggy during the day. Had another appt with the neuro last week and he wants to add cymbalta at night time. I'm a little nervous about that. The prevailing opinion here seems to be that cymbalta makes the RLS worse. Since he's confident that...

Ann. Yes hurdle type stretches. Also calf stretches. I've been doing this since my teen years also, but I didn't have RLS back then. As a teenager and young adult. I worked at jobs that were mostly grunt work/heavy lifting and was on my feet for 6-8 hours. Stretching at the end of the day relieved t...
