Neupro or gabapentin encarbil?
So, I'm augmenting on ropinerole. Dose is up to .75mg after starting at .25mg October 6. At .75mg I had some relief at night and in the early am although I still had bouts during the day. As of two nights ago, it's not working at night anymore. Sent my neuro an email and his nurse called and said he...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants
Quick update: been taking the 100mg trazadone since Saturday. The first night at 100mg was great. I slept 7.5 hours. Last night I slept about 7 hours but woke up very irritable, which is not a thing for me. I had terrible dreams, too. Tonight I took it and slept for about an hour and a half and was ...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants
The decrease in PBA was an unexpected surprise and so welcome - PBA is very socially isolating. Last night I slept for 7.5 hours and probably would have gotten a full 8 but cats. My neuro upped the ropinerole dose to .5mg last week - I took .325 for a few nights because I want to keep the dose as lo...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants
I dont have a target dose but I talked to the pharmacist and he said there are 100s of mg to go up to. The increase to 100mg has been easier than the increase to 75mg was. The dizziness has pretty much resolved and the move to 100mg didnt seem to worsen it. Im still missing that "window" f...

Re: Whacha readin?
ViewsAskew, had to laugh at your airport story. I had a 14 state region for two years in the early 1990's and would cram books in my suitcase like you. One time I was at the LAX baggage carousel and watched a familiar book go by. "Hey, I just read that." And then, "Hmm, Im reading tha...

Re: Whacha readin?
It's one of my stay awake all night nights so I've been looking at old posts. I read on my Kindle because I have a hard time holding books (Dupuytrens). I read everything except women in jeopardy books. Just finished Dead Wake: the Lost Crossing of the Lusitania (Erik Larson), which was interesting ...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants
Sojourner, my neurologist put me on trazadone at the beginning of this month for RLS related insomnia. Maybe my experience will help you with it. I've gone from 25mg to 50mg to 75mg at night since I first started it. I also take .25 ropinirole after dinner and .25mg clonazepam (tapering off) immedia...

So good to hear from people who've tried either the Restiffic or the Relaxis. Hope to hear more! Thanks, all, for sharing your experiences!

Re: Worse on GABA? Or crazy?
Leggo, I have a complicated history with gabapentin but I want to offer a note of reassurance. I was recently on 100-200mg gabapentin for about a week and stopped with no difficulty at all. Years ago, I was on 1,900mg of gabapentin for months and stopped it without a taper. I was put on .25mg clonaz...

Re: Restiffic and Relaxis Information
Being so exhausted has obviously left me with an inability to write clearly. I was really wondering about smoking causes RLS. I know that smoking increases the risk of developing MS and, if you have MS, smoking increases the risk of progression. Because there is the possibility that MS is a vascular...

Re: Restiffic and Relaxis Information
Thanks for posting all this info, Steve and Beth! Do you know if there has been research done on smoking and people with RLS?
