Re: RLS and the COVID Vaccine
I had my first shot of Moderna two weeks ago. My legs lit up for the rest of the day but besides a sore arm it subsided in a few hours.

That’s good to know. A trip to Maryland might be interesting. Never been there. Thanks Rust.

Re: Emory Healthcare in Atlanta - Anyone Use?
Are the Foundation Quality Care Centers doing IV Iron? Does anyone know of a clinic near Florida that does? My neurologist literally threw up his hands yesterday and then prescribed a "sleeping pill" Flurazepam. I thought that term literally died in 1960. I get home and research it and find it is an...

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta - Anyone Use?
Has anyone used this Sleep Center. It’s one of the RLS Foundation’s Quality Care Centers. I’m a day’s drive away but I am desperate. I just don’t want to start from square 1. I’d like to get a hotel, stay a few days, do a sleep study or whatever. I can show up with decades of treatments tried, blood...

Re: Stressless Chairs
We have a room full of them. The first one we've had for well over 10 years and ordered a new one to replace it. It's not ready to go to the curb but will go elsewhere in the house. I like them a lot, better than anything else we could find, but we have noticed they don't give a lot of support to th...

Re: Iron Infusion - When Will Insurance Pay?
Consensus for oral iron I s 2 x 325 mg Ferris Sulfate with Vitamin C on an empty stomach. I do it 4 or 5 times a week and things are just getting worse. My hematologist will not consider IV unless anemic. I’m hoping it gets more accepted and somebody in Florida will provide. Best of Luck

Tramadol Experience
My neurologist gave me a script for 50 or 100 mg of Tramadol. I tried it a few nights, didn’t feel any different except some insomnia and all day mild headache that wouldn’t go away with Tylenol or Advil. One time the headache lasted two days. I only tried it 4 times, 3 at the low dose. He added thi...

Re: Healy Device
My wife bought a Haely device. Top of the line that apparently allows changing frequency. I don’t put much stock in cure all devices but my wife seeks them out. She is treating arthritis and after a few weeks says she thinks it’s doing something. She put it on my legs one evening and I think set it ...

Re: Clonazepam and Doctors
When I got off Clonazepam I read about titrating doses below .5 mg. Dissolve a known quantity in Vodka and dispense it very accurately. If I was to do it again that's what I would do.I just kept breaking the pill into smaller and smaller pieces and staying on a dose for a week or more but still had ...

Re: PA’s Diagnosis
I have an appointment with another neurologist this month. Told my GP I was dissatisfied with neurologist's communication and 10 seconds later had a referral to someone else in network. I'll ask him about the PA's comments on deterioration of the muscle from long term RLS/PLMS. I hope to improve com...

Re: Clonazepam and Doctors
Our stories are so very similar. I lived with RLS maybe forever, Jr. High at least. I first heard of RLS in the 80s. In my late 30s I asked a doctor about it & he put me on Clonazepam. Still had to deal with late afternoon & evening Jimmy legs but slept well. Still had a lot of nighttime leg movemen...

Re: What's the deal with magnesium?
I have been taking magnesium for 8 years in the form of a product Calm. This has peen at the persistence of my wife mixing us up a glass just before bed. No miracle cure for RLS but no complaints. Keeps you regular if you're old like me.

Re: Medical Marijuana in non-recreational US states
In Fl you don't need to see a doctor "certified to dispense MJ" once a year. It's every three months but can't be the same visit as one covered by insurance. So that's 8 times a year. I would gladly pay a doc once a year. And no, I don't want to be breaking the law or buy from an unknown source. Hop...

Re: A few questions about iron tablets
I thought we were supposed to take iron with vitamin C on an empty stomach. I researched that and it is understood to be no less 2 hours after a meal and no more than 1 hour before. I find oral iron helps but is no cure. My providers hematologist says no IV unless I am anemic. My numbers are way up ...
