Re: Progress with my local doctor?

The other thing I am so disturbed by is how many people I know who buy all that crap and don't have critical thinking skills.

Re: Progress with my local doctor?

Amazing, Steve!!! I hope you can get a cc of the clip and post a link? We need an opioid march! Or a pain control march, in any case. Yes to your comments re cigarettes and alcohol. I think I remember reading that there are more suicides annually than opioid ODs. Where's the "suicide crisis&quo...

So well said. It really is.

Feel that I'm waiting for either success or professional embarrassment.

Re: New med

Thanks. I was also thinking about taking the trazodone first then the opioid. Trazodone puts me to sleep so right before maybe take the other pill before it gets into my bloodstream and alerts me. Opioid is so short lasting if I took it earlier feels like benefits wouldn't cover all night. What a me...

Yeah especially since he's a great doctor.

That's why I was cracking a grin...the dark humor! I am going to have to give costco a cc of Dr B's new opioid article.

Re: Hoping for a better night

Hope it gets better.

I don't notice substance triggers for my RLS/PMLS, but I'd be surprised if I didn't have them.

I have been noticing that caffeine tends to worsen or trigger my jaw, back, and hip pain. Maybe due to dehydration or inflammation. It's not good.

Mental RLS triggers

So. I just learned that my RLS doesn't like reading about Alzheimer's Disease. Nor does it like reading about Narcicisstic Parents (a little too close to home I guess). It doesn't like boredom. It doesn't like anxiety. It doesn't like long flights or concerts... I think there was a post about this a...

Re: Happy New Year! & checking in

Thanks all. Yes it is. Still a bit concerned as there are a few more hoops to jump through before I am allowed to start. There is a 2 part acceptance process. 1) They want to hire you (check!) 2) Your background is fully vetted and you are given the handshake. I am on step 2 maybe for another month ...

Re: Another dumb pharmacy trip

I have an update that falls under the "dumb pharmacy trip" category. I am now trying dilaudid instead of oxycodone... I still have oxycodone left on the rx but MD wanted to switch me. I think my costco only has one pharmacist! And it's always the same guy. I almost started cracking up when...

Re: Progress with my local doctor?

One of the most horrible things about doctors is that they have the power of documentation. They can make you sound like a real jerk in the medical record. I am sorry you (like so many of us!) are going through this. Can't recall if I posted it on here, but my new pcp at my first visit said "Pa...

Re: Progress with my local doctor?

I asked who I could speak with to "appeal" the policy decision that prohibits their doctors from prescribing an opioid for a chronic condition. I also explained that their failure to provide medical treatment for my condition was exposing me to an increased risk of a automobile accident, ...

Re: New med

Thanks guys. I emailed the doc. He said give it some more time if I can. I appreciate the 2 week guideline, I will try that. I already take trazodone but the opioid makes it not work for sleep. I do eventually fall asleep with the opioid but it takes so long and sometimes I think it has worn off by ...

New med

I was having problems alerting from oxycodone. I thought the dr was going to add a sleep med or something but instead he stopped that and changed me to 2-4 mg of dilaudid. On the dilaudid, I have cotton brain the next day which seems odd since it's supposed to be so short acting. I have fewer centra...

Re: Happy New Year! & checking in

Thanks all. I got the job!!! Social worker working with older adults. It will be a few months before I can start...healthcare credentialing process is lengthy. So relieved...my job situation the past 3 years has been tenuous and had horrible health coverage. Tenuous because job was full time permane...
