Re: Rotating Meds

I had an incredible 2 weeks in London and Portsmouth and the RLS backed off even for long jet rides. I wish I could count on a dose of vacation working and I would plan even more intense traveling. We won a cheap upgrade coming back from Virgin which was a godsend. I watched three movies and was hom...

Re: Rotating Meds

Thx for the responses. Last few nights have been tolerable I assume because the ebb and flow of pain. Another RLS variable.

I'm on a bucket list vacation next few weeks. I'm hoping to get a reprieve from the worst of RLS as usual when traveling. Knock on wood!

Rotating Meds

I saw a neurologist about the severity of my RLS. This is the first time I've used one beyond just a consultation. He added Lyrica to the mix of Clonazepam and Gabapentin I was already on. Worked like a champ for five weeks. Now, two months later, I'm about back where I started. My regular doctor wa...

Re: Nonmedication strategies for RLS by Shalini Paruthi,MD

I had read an article where the doctor said he had seen RLS patients who did better later in life. At 62 I'm not real encouraged from what I read above. I've been blessed with such a great life, I guess this is just a burden I have to carry.

Re: B 12 levels

My doctor put me on B12 and threatened shots if it did not come up. She said it might help RLS but it didn't. I tried those gummy bear ones from CVS for 3 months and it didn't get any better. I went to methylcobalamin B12 drops I buy from Amazon for $30 for 30 mL and my number shot up to 361 pg/mL. ...

Re: Gabapentin withdraw symptoms

I'm on three psychotropic medications so I asked my neurologist if I could try to get off Gabapentin (which I thought was not doing much). I took a half dose and it triggered intense RLS in the middle of the night after 6 weeks of relative peace with my legs. I took the other half and got through th...

Re: Lyrica Cocktail

Views, when the Neupro proved to be too expensive, I asked the neurologist's nurse and he said 800 mg was the max recommended. Previously I unintentionally took 2 pills a night for a week until I realized what I was doing and saw no improvement at all. The Lyrica worked in a day. I did not expect th...

Lyrica Cocktail

I started Lyrica four weeks ago as an afterthought phone prescription because the Neupro that my neurologist prescribed cost $800 a month out of pocket. I can't even remember Lyrica ever coming up with my GPs or neurologists and had a fear of the drug from the side effects listed in their ads. This ...

Re: Neupro Cost

Thx for response Oyx. 5 days in and Lyrica is working so well it is scaring the hell out of me. Ropinirole worked great for a few days and then everything went to hell. My legs have been so calm I forgot what it felt like. Virtually no pain, day and night, even after long hard elliptical sessions. U...

Re: Dr. Gundry's supplement

How much Kratom do you take. I tried it once (and probably still have some around) but I could not figure how to choke down several tablespoons. I even tried brownies but who can eat a big brownie every night without blowing up. And all it did was make the brownies taste bad. Good luck staying off m...

Re: Neupro Cost

Thx for the reply QyX. My year of DAs started with withdrawals from clonazepam which I was on for 20 years. The freezing feet and knee caps I believe were from withdrawal and I still wrestle with that even after a year back on clonazepam. The pain in my thighs started when I was trying all the DAs. ...

Re: Neupro Cost

Rustsmith, I was on Requip ER for about a year and was paying about $100 a month and thought that was outrageous. Now I am extremely cheap and I have never been on a drug that was not either generic or fully covered by insurance. I think the only way I'll try Neupro is if it goes generic. I'll be on...

Re: Neupro Cost

stjohn, we did discuss iron. I was tested a few years ago and level was 265 which I understand is way high. That was before I took any supplement like I take now (Iron Bisglycinate). I doubt either my doctor or this new neurologist know much about infusions. Next meeting I'm going to bring up Cannab...

Re: Neupro Cost

Thanks for replies. I knew going in it was expensive but wow! I could finance a Tesla for that much. I called the neurologist first thing this morning. I'm on meds now and my primary referred me to neurologist to try to improve situation. I take gabapentin now at bedtime with clonazepam and would be...

Neupro Cost

I saw a neurologist this morning (new to me) and at the end of our meeting he prescribed Neupro. I told him I had heard it was very expensive and he was understanding, but said he had no samples so see if pharmacy would sell me 10 to see how it worked. I stopped by pharmacy and asked them to price i...
